Flippin' off old work

My last place of employment fired me (it was actually a wrongful dismissal). The people there were so mean to me because I was slightly different than them. For example, I did not engaged in mindless conversations with them about shopping for name-brand clothing and other superficial things. They also had a hate on for me because I was a REALLY hard worker, and I was always upstaging them. Well they ganged up on me and eventually got me fired. Dumb bitches. So now whenever I drive by my old work place (which is rare), I ALWAYS make sure to salute them by flipping them off. I often use both middle fingers, but sometimes it's only one. I hate them so much, I hope they eventually go out of business, which is possible. If they do, I am going to dance for joy. I am not normal a hateful/vangeful person, but these people deserve to be thrown on the street without a dollar to their name. Is it normal to feel this way toward them? I don't see a problem with it.

    • Assholes. Isn't it a piss off to get fired for the wrong reason?? I mean WTF? These people need to look into the facts before accusing and letting someone go. So flip away, my friend! :)

This is pretty funny because I was in the EXACT same situation. Wrongfully dismissed because, I too, was different (long story) so whenever I would drive by (as a passenger) I would give the place a pair of middle fingers. My boyfriend always just yells at me to "get over it!". But I can't get over it. I feel dejected and stabbed in the back. Thankfully, I am back in school so it was a blessing in disguise, but I still hate the place with an undying passion.

    I think it is normal.

    • Wow, exactly the same as me! People also tell me to get over it, but it still bothers me to this day. And yes it was also a blessing in diguise for me. I'm working at a much better place now (well the pay isn't better, but the people are!) and I'm also studying a course on the side. I'm gonna better myself and show those bitches I don't need their bulshit! Good luck to you, by the way :)

  • Of course it is. Flip away. If you worked hard, but got screwed.

But I think this sort of shallow retail is not for you. Any other Prospects? What you doing to get into a career that you actually like & are appreciated for?

    • Thankfully I have since found a better job, and I love my coworkers. I'm actually treated with respect, for a change. Still not my dream job, but at least I'm a lot happier here, and my coworkers are nice, which makes a HUGE difference. The only crappy part is the pay is less. But it is very hard to find a high-paying job around here in these hard times...
