Female unwanted body hair in my forties.

I'm a female in my mid-40s. Starting in my 20s, I noticed a few stray hairs around my nipples. In my early 30s, a few more hairs added to them, plus my pubic hair spread up and started to grow around my butt! Disgusting, right? Is this normal?! Anyone my age out there that can say they have the same thing going on?

It could be hormonal. A natural way to take care of it would be to either shave or wax yourself. You could see a doctor if it doesn't work to your satisfaction.

    Good luck.

You may have PCOS or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. While some women experience cyst, pain and irregular periods it is not always a symptom in women who have PCOS. Many women never know they have PCOS until they are in their 30s-50s. The unwanted hair is a result of too much testosterone in the body which is a result of high insulin (as PCOS is a precursor to diabetes type II), this high insulin is a result of a diet which is loaded in carbohydrates and sugars. Do you gain weight particularly in your abdominal? Are your legs and arms leaner, giving you a apple shape? Do you experience irregular or painful periods? Have you ever had trouble getting pregnant?
The good news is that these symptoms of unwanted hair are mostly controllable if you do in fact have PCOS, however, because of the damage caused, the symptoms which you have will be difficult to erase without a strict diet composed of mainly greens, meat and vitamin supplements(no sugars, alcohol, carbs and very little fruit. These are your worst enemy).
    Hope this helps!

I have stomach hair, butt hair, some chest hair, back hair and a tiny bit of lip hair. I shave the butt and stomach but I will never touch the back and lips, ever. Only laser hair removal when I can afford it.

I get unwanted hair on my face and nipples too but I am 22. It sucks and I feel like I am an old lady. I also have no sex drive. I do think my hormones are out of whack. It happens to everyone

  • I'm thirty now and I notice stuff that wasn't there before like nose hairs. I would suggest either shaving it off or having it perminently removed professionally by lazers.

My wife is 42 and she's having the same problem. It pretty hard for her especially in summer for she loves sunbathing. During winter the only time she shaves in for her doctor's appointment.

is because of estrogen levels decreasing and testostorone increasing. see you doctor they can prescribe hormones and creams to stop this.

Probably relates to estrogen and testosterone levels. As women age, their production of estrogen decreases and their production of testosterone increases. This could account for the increase in hair. Your body may just be producing more/less than the average. If it bothers you, have the hair removed by a dermatologist.
