The one movie that has helped pull me through more difficult and sad times than any other will always be:
Love Actually
Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, either of the Wayne's World or Bill and Ted films, Freddy Got Fingered (now there's one that will split the crowd... bits of it make me laugh so much, but most people hate it), Ghostbusters, Uncle Buck, Drop Dead Fred, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Nuts In May, Abigail's Party, any of the Courageous Chung vampire comedies (but especially Encounters of a Spooky Kind), Tatie Danielle, Good Morning Vietnam, Groundhog Day.
Super Troopers, it's so damn funny. In fact, I'd like to watch it right meow.
Amelie.
Babe.
Wallace and Gromit in.. The Wrong Trousers!
Singin' In The Rain.
The Truman Show.
Dumbo.
The Matrix (when I was 9 I reeeally wanted to be 'The One').
Jackie Chan films (when I was 9 I reeeally wanted to be Jackie Chan's son).
The Artist (made me feel good).
Toy Story.
Scott Pilgrim vs The World. I swear I've seen that movie like 10 times.
More feel good movies, uhm, anything Pixar will pretty much do the trick. What else is there? Uhm, hmm, if you haven't seen it, watch Safety Not Guaranteed.
It's a Wonderful Life is one of the ultimate feel good movies. Pretty obvious choice. I know it's a bit sad, but the way it ends actually makes me cry with happiness. I never cry with happiness! Also, Clarence is just one of the cutest characters ever. Awwww, all he wanted was to get his wings!0:D
Quite a lot of my favourites are sad films, but those obviously aren't good for feeling good.:P The other films which make up my favourites tend to be a bit simple. I love stuff which isn't really draining, just nice to watch. Not much tends to happen in them, it's just a nice story. Run Lola Run makes me very happy. Also, Howl's Moving Castle is just lovely. Amelie makes me smile. And this ones a crappy film, but God knows how many times I've seen Van Helsing:P. It never gets boring for me! Films like that are the best. So, Star Wars, too. LOTR every now and again. Pulp Fiction is great. As for comedy, Wayne's World. Garth is the cutest thing EVER.:P I don't think Trainspotting really falls into feel good films, but it makes me laugh at times, and I really enjoy it. It's a favourite. The sort of crappy film that make me laugh are great too. I think action films, rom-coms, sci-fi, films that make me laugh, and ones which are a bit light and aren't draining are the best for feeling good. Or maybe a bit of Gangster action, ha.:D Or a musical maybe?
Damn, I feel like I'm missing the biggest feel good movie! Argh, what is it? Hmm, it'll come back to me. I just remember that there's a film which I'm smiling like an idiot all the way through. Oh for goodness sake, my memory needs to start working better!
Edit: Ferris Bueller's Day Off. God damn it! What's wrong with me, how could I forget that one? Ugh. Yeah, just stuff like that really, not too much fuss. Just a bit silly. I'm still forgetting quite a few big ones, though. Hmm. I'm sure my brain will start working soon enough. I'll be back! Hehe, I'm adding Terminator to the list:P!
It might fall under action, I don't know, but Superhero movies are fun. The Spiderman with Toby Maguire (new one falls under the crappy=funny lot). I like the older Batmans. Even Fantastic Four, especially the one with the Silver Surfer. So, there's those.
Fantasy films too. Stuff with dancing in. There's a certain type of melodramatic that I love to bits (although there's one I can't stand too).
Anything with nostalgia and all that sort of thing I can get sentimental over. I'm still trying to think of that film, though. It's just really unrealistic stuff happening, and it makes me happy.
Yeah the Tobey Maguire Spiderman was better I thought. Everybody was so quick to trash it after the new one, and perhaps it's nostalgia speaking since I was about 12 when it came out, but I found it more entertaining (in a trashy kind of way).
Yeah, I agree. Maybe if I had watched the new Spiderman when I was a kid (even though it wasn't out then:P), I'd have liked it like the old ones. I'm probably less forgiving with trashy films now. I just preferred the old Spiderman as well, he was more geeky and stuff.
