Feel as though everyone is messing with me?

I almost always feel like everyone does not like me. I think that I'm smarter than most individuals, (so it is not an inferiority complex), but when normal conversations come up, I either get really anxious or flat out make it weird. I also feel that when someone talks to me, I think that they are trying to make fun of me or mess with me. A guy asked if we could be buds a few days ago and I flat out said no, I don't even hate the guy, but I thought he was messing with me. I would love some suggestions on my issue, thanks!

Sometimes it's the case sometimes it's not but anxiety and trust issues could make it hard to tell the difference.

Stop taking yourself so seriously! Have fun, live a little, laugh a lot. Instead of making your life more difficult than it needs to be with all these awful head games (poor you!) just crack a smile and give it a go. Everyone is weird and wonderful in their own little way so stop being scared to get out there and discover what you are all about. You are missing all the fun! PS The only person messing with you is YOU.

Maybe you have no self confidence.

I feel like I'm not good enough for anyone to be friends that's why I'm lonely all the time. And as a result my self-esteem has suffered. But the positive thing is that it has made me more comfortable with being by myself.

Maybe you're too intelligent and advanced for the common folk. Have you tried going to an elite organisation or institution? You may feel more comfortable when you have people worth talking to whom you can converse with.

Try an organisation that we know exists, such as Mensa.

Sounds like Aspergers to me everyone I ever met with it thought they were smarter than everyone else and it was very annoying to be around them I think thats the making it weird part you mentioned. I'm not the best in social situations but I know to keep my mouth closed if I don't know what to say.

I had a percentile average of 96 on a nation wide test called ASVAB (It is a Government test used to help takers chose their future career and is used for data collection). I also just got a 91 on a recent midterm.

Also, I had gone to the doctors as a child for Asperger Screening, its a no go. Also, it is not all social interactions in general, I have a good amount of friends, It is mostly with people I don't know.

Good scores on a test means your good at taking tests. As for about your problem I don't know but it sounds like everyone I've ever known diagnosed with Aspergers maybe its time to check with the doctor again.
