Fear of being forgotten

Okay so ever since my first teenage years iv had this underlying fear of being forgotten. I guess i kind of deserve it for not interacting with more people. For example: all throughout my middle school years i only hung around with people who i knew and trusted. So when the last day of 8th grade wen i went home and started looking through my yearbook i noticed i wasn't in any of the "student activities" pics and there were NO autographs except for 3 friends. So i realized all those kids will probably forget about me ever being there. This pattern carried through my high school years as well.

You won't care when you're dead.

  • It's better to be forgotten than to be remembered and hated.

More people will remember you than you think, but the truth is it probably won't matter. I've found that the people I knew in school have very little bearing on my life now. As you get older you meet new people through different activities such as work or college. You'll find people with common interests and you make new friends. Make the most of the present and don't worry about the past. The who mattered will remember you.

You will be surprised by all the people who remember you. But try to step out of the bubble you have created and venture out to meet new people. Life is about the little decisions that we make everyday. You cannot change past decisions, but with every new day there is an opprotunity to make new and better decisions.
