Great director this guy. My favorite film of his is Titanic, which is also my very favorite film of all time. So, which one of his films do you like the most? And no, Piranha 2 doesn't count lol.

The Terminator 5

I say James Cameron needs to stop making movies. He had a decent few back in 90's, but shit gone absolutely awry for now. And please shoot the idiot who made hunger games. it's like a gay battle royal with shitty acting.

T2 is by far my favorite with True Lies (which is hilarious) and Avatar both coming in second.

Didn't like the The Abyss until I saw the director's cut and then suddenly it all made sense. I have no idea how they could have released it with huge amounts of plot missing. The Abyss would be my favourite were it not for Terminator 2.

I *love* Terminator 2. I love everything about it. Edward Furlong is my favourite John Connor and his acting was superb for a child actor. And Robert Patrick! Oh my! Genuinely scary and frigidly cold! Like The Abyss, the director's cut is better and makes more sense.

Someone needs to let Mr. Cameron produce the films he wants to produce. Looking at the length of Avatar, perhaps they are trusting his instincts. I finally got to see Avatar and was pleasantly surprised. Much better than I thought it was going to be.

Aliens and True Lies still make me want to rip out my eyeballs, though. As for Titanic, it's impressive visually. And me and my friends always howl with laughter when Billy Zane's character commands, "Now, you moron!"

Terminator 2 has my favourite Arnie quote ever.

"I need your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle"

And the way he reloaded that shotgun one handed on the bike.. absolute movie magic.

Me too, actually, in both cases. First because he was naked and had no right to make such a claim (unless he was superhuman). In the second scene, just pure superhuman smoothness. Swing and reload. Bam! Effortless!

But then counterpointed to this is when he picks up the guy by his hair and can't understand why John Connor would instruct him not to kill a human. When he doesn't understand that being superhuman and a "terminator" doesn't correlate terminating humans as a good thing despite that being all he's programmed to do.

And then finally his admission to John that it is within humans to destroy themselves. That, as a terminator, he's a human invention and that he's not the problem; the problem lies with his inventor.

Great film! I criticise Hollywood all the time and they do let stupid stuff through. Admittedly, it isn't Ibsen. But it has Cameron's ethics running through it and I do find myself very much in agreement with James Cameron. I'd quite like to sit down and have a chat with him. I think we'd get along. I'm glad he's making films.

  • For me, Titanic was meh and I absolutely despised True Lies. I like the rest of the movies you've selected.
