Nobody likes Deftones? I like pretty much everything that has been listed already but Deftones is my favorite.
I'm surprised nobody's mentioned phish.
The music's OK, very competent musicians.
Despite the weird theatrics, the goofy as shit fans and the lyrics that sound like the babblings of some filthy guy at the port authority handing out pamphlets and scaring people.
And there's the obvious drug problems.
I would love to thumb this down but I won't. I suffered through hours of their live concert on new years eve and I wanted to repeatedly stab myself in the head, neck and shoulders with an ice pick. And then there was the synchronized trampoline jumping. I vomited.
Sublime
No Doubt
Incubus
RHCP
Kyuss

Did you call me a chili pepper fag?
Of those, probably Radiohead although that's mediated by the fact I think of Muse as a 00s band rather than a 90s band. Of any bands: Weezer. Their first two albums are two of my favourites and they were both released in the 90s. Other challengers include:
Portishead
NoFX (although they're also an 80s band, I guess)
A Tribe Called Quest
Tupac, if he was a band :P
The Offspring
Radiohead
The Get Up Kids
Smashing Pumpkins
Less Than Jake (They're probably 2nd on my list, although I think they're almost a 00s band too :P)
The Lillingtons
Red Hot Chili Peppers (their best era was in the 90s, so I count them :P)
... and loads of others I can't list :P I want to list more non-rock bands, but their names escape me at the moment.
NIN!!!!
Smashing Pumpkins
Ghandharvas
Skinny Puppy
Soundgarden
Silverchair
Offspring
Jamiroquai
The Tragically Hip
Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Korn, Nirvana, Stereophonics, Veruca Salt, Smashing Pumpkins, Hole, Garbage, Godsmack, Queens of The Stone Age, No Doubt, RHCP, Green Day, Silverchair, Tool, Collective Soul, Radiohead, Filter, Bush, Candlebox, Marilyn Manson, Helmet, The Prodogy, Nine Inch Nails, Muse, Mudhoney, The Melvins, Skin Yard and I think I listed all of them.
There was this one song I heard back in the 90's about rain i never got to figure out the band's name.
90's was the golden time of heavy metal music! i want to live in that time and go to the nirvana concerts
I'm just going to add a couple that I like which I didn't already see in anyone's list.
Weezer
Incubus
The Donnas
311
Alanis Morissette
Blink-182
Foo Fighters
I like many more, including many which have been listed.
I really liked all the 90s one hit wonders..not too many come to mind right now except that Meredith brooks song haha but damn those were good times
Ooh, such a good question! From your list, Radiohead. Although I think they should have got a mention, I'm kind of glad you didn't include Nirvana, because that would have made it harder to choose. Not from your list, I really don't know who to choose. Hmm.
Although I haven't listened to anything from Alice in Chains, so I might go and check them out.
Alice in Chains is great if you like heavy music. The guitar riffs make me want to just lay on the floor all day and bask in the sound. I'm starting to get into them and it started by listening to their songs "sunshine" and "Love Hate Love" over all, a great band:) happy listening!
