Anything by Isaac Brock (Modest Mouse) is pretty high up in the lyric-stakes for me. Also Beck can be great... Isaac Brock makes you THINK, Beck Hansen makes you SEE.

Also, been getting into Captain Beefheart (Don Van Vliet) recently... Safe as Milk (take 5) gets a good vote from me.
