Fat people in small cars

When I say fat people, I am not talking about your average plump, chunky munky, or someone packing a few extra pounds. Don't get sensitive on me yet, dear reader! I am talking about obese-morbidly obese. The kind of people that parents have to stop their little kids from pointing out and asking "Mommy, what happened to THEM?".

And when I see them walking towards an itty-bitty car (like a Mazda Miata, Kia Rio, Ford Fiesta, SMART Cars, etc.) I stop and watch for a second, because it amazes me that they can FIT in such a tiny little vehicle!

But I can't look away there. I like to linger for a moment to see if their weight adds stress to the car and sinks down on the shocks a little bit before I go on my merry way...

Is it normal that I get this entertainment from watching fat people enter itty-bitty automobiles?

For some reason I think this is by NeuroNeptunian.

Yeah it's normal; it's novel and clownish and who doesn't like watching something large try and fit into something small? (That sounds wrong)

I just hope that it's my... er... unique style of writing rather than my propensity to be an asshole and poke fun at the less fortunate.

I knew a guy that was a little north of 500lbs. He had a custom remodeled Harley Davidson to be able to handle his weight. THAT my friends is a funny image!

If I were a photographer, I would do a collection called "San Diego Motor Cracks" or some shit, because every day I see those people riding their motorcycles and when they are riding away, clear full moon out.

It's funnier to see the women on motorcycles with their thongs out. I don't know whether to thumbs up at a nice ass or thumbs down to her for being an ass.

You're not the only one XD I drive a 2-door Sunfire, and I remember taking my friend and her ex-husband out for shopping. He had to have been at least 300-something pounds, and I admit, it gave me great amusement watching him crawl behind the driver's seat into the back. I was cracking up silently. However, it WASN'T so amusing when I had to adjust my seat to the fucking steering wheel to make room for his fat. It also wasn't amusing when he threw off the centre of balance on my car. Nor was it amusing that he stunk so badly that my car smelled for days after.
But with all the shit he created, I still was highly amused at watching him scramble to fit in the back of my car.

not exactly small car, but I thought it was hillarious when someone i knew was trying to climb in a jeep. I invited a friend out to my house and she brought a friend of hers. The jeep is pretty rusty, but when the other woman climbed in, the whole passnger side of the jeep was against the tires, and it looked like it would flip over.
when i got back home, My brother and i had to replace the passenger tires and fix the frame.

how often do you see obese people??

What I think is "why" do they drive them? It's fucking ridiculous, I have nothing against fat people but when they decide to ride motorcycles or put a poor horse under stress by mounting the thing. Its annoyingly insane.

    This post made me laugh.
Perhaps the fat people thought a small car would make them look smaller.

I'll never forget when I saw two huge women in a tiny car in a parking lot. Apparently the driver didn't hit the brakes when she pulled into a parking spot and the car went over the concrete block thingy and was practically teetering back and forth. They kept trying to get unstuck but it was not happening. The passenger got out and the car raised up a bit, but still couldn't get unstuck! I almost died, I know the suspension did. Poor car

I don't think I've ever seen a big fatty get into a car, but there's a guy who often gets on my train who will take three seats, I sometimes think a bunch of us should all go to the other side of the carriage so we don't derail.

glad I'm not the only one thats noticed this, seems like the law of obese drivers is: The size of the driver is inversely proportional to the size of the car

I saw this really fat guy squeeze into a Dodge Charger a while back. He had to smoosh his head inward towards his body (sort of like a turtle almost...) to get it under the cab. Fat people can be quite humorous at times :P

Haha, did I push one of your buttons? Are you fat, or do you drive a dodge charger? Or are you somehow like a turtle? Which one is it? :P

I've never understood this logic. It's one thing if they can't afford a new car, but another if they can. Why on earth do they want to deal with that? Bigger people need more spacious cars.

    lol...

How about when you see a large car, like a Lincoln Town Car, or a Caprice, and it's like 2 inches off the ground on one side only, where the fat chick sits, shocks completely blown out. Or the whole back of the car is basically rubbing on the ground, and the tires are rubbing in the wheel wells.

There was this huge fat lady who worked at the town hall, she was one of those who's chunky but semi normal looking up top but her ass is like 4 feet wide (literally). She would sit in this desk chair that was extra wide and when she got up or sat down, she'd have to wedge part of one ass cheek in under one armrest, then do the next side. It was...wow...and there'd be like 1 entire foot length of ass poking out through each of the armrests when she was sitting. She drove a Caprice, it was an unintentional lowrider.

Sometimes, I wonder if it was a slow sinking process, like gradual tectonic activity or a bridge built on brittle sediments, or if, one day, they just blew out in a *SSHHHHH* when the person went to plump their rump in the badly worn seat.

I dunno but damn, can you imagine what their furniture must look like if they can manage to break down a 3000 lb steel automobile just by normal use?

There was a letter to Ann Landers I remember from, jeez, must be about 1993 (I read the paper religiously as a kid...and remember too much shit...and no internet or TV, so the daily paper was like the world to me). Anyway this woman was writing in to ask Ann Landers if it was OK to request that her fat friend pay extra for the carpool because of the extra wear and tear and lower gas mileage she caused. She went on in such detail, accounting for the extra tread loss on her tires and stress on the engine, wear on the seat cushions, it was so detailed and anal. I can't even fathom how long it took this woman to crunch the numbers, probably had to commission NASA to figure this shit out.

The one thing I don't recall was Ann's response, unfortunately.

LOL wow, I wouldn't even go into specific calculations although I am sure, with enough research, I could figure it out myself because it IS possibly to calculate. I'm sure she did it so she would have a legitimate case and not look like a cheap asshole for prejudiced against fat people. People are quick to accuse for something like that.

If Ms. Landers was smart, her answer would have been "yes".

We actually had a similar type of issue with my dad and kitchen table chairs. My dad isn't fat, he's just HUGE, he's one of the biggest, tallest most imposing men I've ever seen in real life. Anyway, his chair would get wobbly and eventually break from HIM, and he'd blame us for switching out his chair with one of ours as if we broke it and dumped it on him. So he'd take our good chairs and give us his shit chairs, until every last chair was busted. Well after a number of years of this we got wise and decided to write his name on the bottom of his chair when my mom bought an all new dining set. Sure enough, it happened again and we showed him the name and he still thought we had plotted it all out, he just can't accept he broke the fucking chairs. I wonder who he blames now though, since all the kids are gone?? I'll ask my mom tomorrow if I remember, I should be seeing her anyway.
