Fantasize about singing

I cannot carry a tune at all. However as long as I can remember I fantasize about belting it out in front of an audience, not like a concert, but in a talent show at school or office work party. I get lost when a good robust song like any Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, or a singer like that comes on the radio. How I would love to be at a night club like in the 20s and be one of those sulfur singers!!! It's getting worse now with the show Glee I want to be able to just song and be admired for it! Anyone else have vivid fantasies about singing?

    I can use autotune ;D but I find it easier to teach people to sing. Some people can never learn, but most people just need a bit of tweaking and a few tips. And it helps to understand the theory of music and what makes a good sound.

    of course it's normal.
    i was in choir all thru middle and high school, but still i wish i could sing better.

    Whenever I'm alone at work I wish I could just burst into song. Some people do. I work with someone who can more or less carry a tune, but she doesn't care if shes off-key and sings loudly all the time and part of me is envious of her confidence.
    My mother is a music teacher though and I've grown up with music and singing in my home all my life, but that has actually made me LESS comfortable with it--even though I've inherited a classically good voice.
    But yea, I want to burst out in song and have beautiful words and notes just cascade from my body--what to sing though...hmmm...

    I've always wanted to sing. I have a very interesting and distinctive speaking voice but I can't carry a tune for the life of me. I guess the only option for us is technology (sound engineers can auto-tune people's voice on the fly). Maybe we should pool our money and hire ourselves a sound engineer!
