The Simpsons is easiest to identify with. I was quite definitely Bart, have been Barney, Professor Frink, Milhouse, and finally Lisa, also hoping my future includes Dr. Nick, Lionel Hutz, and the Mexican bee man.

I can't find anyone in Family Guy that I'd be. It's about other people. I think that's the difference. The Simpsons is about laughing at ourselves and Family Guy is about laughing at other people. Nonetheless, I think either of them, on their day, are as good as it gets.

The Americans excel at this stuff. No-one else can even get close.

    5. Meg
    6. Definetly STEWIE
    7. Family Guy with STEWIE
    8. Family Guy is funny, what is even the point for The Simpsons? It is not at all funny, in any way!

Simply family guy is not REAL humour. The show just randomizes stupid things. The Simpsons was a classic American family. Made in 1989. While family guy, came out a late decade later ABOUT A AMERICAN FAMILY. No originality there.

They're both great but if there were two new episodes on at the same time, I would have to say Family Guy.

    1. Family guy makes me laugh, but the simpsons jokes i appreciate more because they are clever and makes you think

    2. If it is the new simpsons episode i would watch neither. I have seen every episode of FG too many times... the new ones are hit and miss, same with south park. the new simpsons just fails

    3. Peter Griffin

    4. Brian of the older episodes now he's mostly a pathertic douche

    5. Lisa but they're both kind of annoying

    6. Maggie

    7. I would say the simpsons

    8. because it's the original and there are so many good episode, even south park made ''simpsons did it'' because the simpsons made jokes way before anyone else could even think of them.

    South Park 100%
But if I only had to choose between Family Guy or The Simpsons, it would be The Simpsons all the way. I really, really can not stand Fmily Guy. There is a point where stupidity just becomes annoying.

Family guy has absolutely no charm whatsowever. For a show to be that stupid it must be extremely funny. FG is only remotely funny at times. The Simpsons for me. Any Simpsons character beats any FG character, FG characters are just plain stupid.

Simpson's old school was fantastic, but now it sucks for the most part. I hate Family Guy. The best show is American Dad but sadly its underrated.

I'd go with Family Guy, it's been a good show ever since the first episode, the Simpsons was funny and sophisticated back in the day, but now it's just a show about Farts, Guest Stars, Marijuana, Guest Stars, Copying Family Guy, Guest Stars. Etc.

When I was young I loved The Simpsons, but nowadays I'd pick Family Guy because it's adult humour. South Park is better than both though by some distance, it'll be a sad day when Matt & Trey pack it in.

originally family guy was living in the simpsons shadow. trying to do something similar to the simpsons. eventually family guy got more funny. but pointless. the simpsons‘s jokes were more memorable. but less funny. so if i would rate them both. FG would get a 9.0 and simpsons a 9.5

    Hiya,

Lisa loves her blues and so do I – and the songs she writes are actually quite good, although I’d never buy the album in 1,000 years. Otto used to remind me of me but not so much anymore.
Were Moe real we'd get on well, I luv men like him and places like that. Or I could be Comic Book Guy's girlfriend.

I love FG when the cow's being branded, it's so funny.

South Park! Great social commentary. Plus, the creators made a GREAT play called Book of Mormon, so they have my support 100%

    1. The Simpsons, normally.

    2. Depends on episode.

    3. Homer!

    4. Brian

    5. Lisa?

    6. Stewie, of course!

    7. The Simpsons, in the long run.

    8. Because, it's more funny more often.

South Park overall, but the Simpsons is (are?) waaaaaaaaaay better than Family Guy. FG is hilarious, I know, but the Simpsons have so much more memorable moments and is better written. I mean, FG will use something funny until it's dead. "Bird Is the Word", for example, or when Peter graps his knee going "phh...aaaah...."

    • Thats what so GREAT about FG. They do so much, that its funny.. They take chances, insted of Simpsons, they play it safe so all people in all ages can watch it, Thats why its kid stuff!!

      • Uzzie101

Noooooooooooo way! Bird Is The Word was funny the first few times but half way through that episode I was like "OK...that's enough now..."

It's great when they bring something back from the past though, like in South Park.
"Dey took der derbs!" But overkilling in a single episode, arrrgh!

        • Sorry.. 3 month's later i know. But if FG weren't overdoing stuff like that it would just be sad. If just did a few time's then what's the point? I'm a FG fan 100% And The creator's of the The Simpsons, know what to do. Just do the same stuff over and over again.. Homer is drunk and stupid.. When Marge ask him something he either just stare brainless. Or he say thing's that has nothing to do with it. Haha? NO creativite. Yes Family Guy is a bit extreme. But at least it's fun. And The Simpsons always has some dumb ass moral with the story.. It's kid stuff. Alot of thing's get banned from Family guy. Sometimes people even get mad at them. But they just say "Screw you, we do it anyways" And BAM at Penis appears. And in one episode (At the ending) "We will now show you a clip of a monkey scrathing himself. Actullay the guy's at the studio wanted this time to talk about some starving kid's in Africa, but i was like, No way! Monkey scrath"

I'd probably watch South Park. If it wasn't on T.V., then I'd either watch it on dvd or just watch the Simpsons. I don't care much for Family guy, although I do like Stewie.

    2. Depends on episode
    3. Homer
    4. Brian
    5. Lisa
    6. Stewie
    7. I don't play favorites.
    8. because I think they both offer a lot of social commentary that is brilliant. Depending on the way you view the world one may portray these ideas for you in a way that resonates better. Classic Simpsons are hard to beat, but they have been around for so long, the writing has lost some of it's umph. Family guy makes me laugh, but sometimes it also annoys me more than the Simpsons ever could. It isn't a show for everyone.

For one thing, the Simpsons has just as much politics, for another, I love Stewie so much, I would never watch anything else on TV if they removed him, I would be so traumatized.

I agree, Family Guy has gone down the tubes in the last couple seasons with the exception of maybe a couple episodes. The political crap is too much.
