Falling in love by instant message

I met someone through an internet dating service but only by e-mail, instant message and very brief phone calls. He started professing his love for me not long after we started chatting and it didn't take but a week or so and I felt the same way he did. We are starting to make plans to meet each other. He lives in England and I live in the US and it will be a major deal to do this. Am I being realistic that we can be in love before meet in person? Is it normal to feel like this?

lol reminds me of my ex. He left me for a trashy girl whom he'd met online. Awesomeness. If i were you, I wouldn't go through with it.

this guy sounds like a chump! hey if he's willing to pay for the plane ticket, then go. but he's gonna expect you to put out and you might not like him.

otherwise, save yourself the time, money and disillusion.

GOD I hope you've seen a lot of pictures.

And I don't want to say "stupid," but naive... real chemistry only happens in person. You are very likely projecting your expectations on to him, and he probably isn't the person you "want" him to be, the person you've made him out to be in your head. It may happen right away or you may realize it weeks later, but you'll discover he isn't the person you thought he was, and the same will happen to him,

    delusion! illusion!

dont worry sweetie... there is hope :)
i met my bf online, although not through a dating site... i was underaged and he was obviously older. We talked online for about a year and a half and he also lives in england and i in the US. Soon i made a flight to england and met him in person for the first time... and now he lives with me here, in the USA.. love is love, no matter what form :)
We have been together for 5 years and he was my second bf, and still is, and our feelings are still very strong.

however... not all stories like this have happy endings, be very cautious when you meet this man... tell at least one friend or person where u are going exactly so that if something does happen to you,and im not saying it will, somebody will know where you are and who you were with. Stay safe..
    take care.
