Falling for someone you haven't met! iin?

Is it really possible to fall for someone over the internet. I like her even though I have never seen her in reality. I know females can be scary. But I still want to get to know her more and take that chance. So is it measurably normal to fall for someone over the internet?

lol we are all scary to somebody, somewhere :)

I've met a few friends over the Internet, used MSN as a lifeline for company in many cases, but as has been said here, there has to be that spark if you ever meet up. No matter how amazing a person may feel in the protection of the Internet, in real life, you experience shyness, silence, boredom, problems, and of course, the bit of being sat next to somebody with nothing to do and watching really tedious crap on TV :)

I travelled 130 miles on a date once (I was lonely and desperate and we did both chat for hours for weeks before). I got there, we both felt too shy, she wanted toooo much, and we sat silently thru a really rubbish horror film, she kept getting up and wandering to the kitchen too.

You cannot imagine how relieved I was the next morning when she just said "this isn't working for me, im sorry".

I've never been so happy to leave a building in my life :) First thing I did when i got home was signed in and blocked her - she'd already done the same to me lol

Good luck with it though, sometimes really good things can happen :)

The thing is that attraction is based on brain chemicals, therefore you cannot really determine wether you're really attracted to a person you've never met, you neeeeeeeeed to be close and see if there is chemistry, if there isn't, there is no hope.

Totally normal, I've met some long term friends on the net. You've gotten to know each other so that's a good start...anything can happen. Good luck to you.

  • hahaha uhhh.....to fall in love with someone, you actually have to know their presence, and understand them emotionally on some level. you can't just fall in love with a face and a profile. c'mon. and if you actually think it's love, I feel bad for you. it's called INTERNET INFATUATION

lol. No where close to love buddy. My feelings stand at a liking point. I concur with your statement "to fall in love with someone, you actually have to know their presence, ...." Don't have to feel bad for me. But I am glad you felt something rather than nothing at all.

  • Of course it's possible, you're not the only one who feels like that. Anyways, from here it's all up to you now.

I will give it to you straight. You are a hopeless romantic aren't you? I can already tell. Let me tell you, I am a female and we are manipulative. Men are scary too, we are foreign bodies to each other. Just make sure her priorities are in the right place, especially with internet flings. You feel butterflies and rainbow because that is a product of your overactive imagination. How do you even know she feels the same about you?

Well I know that we don't share the same feelings. She knows I like her. We are skyping from 10:00 pm to 4:00 or 5:00 am daily (shes an hour behind) for the past 3+ weeks. I am sure if she wasn't in to me, we would not be doing that. To be honest, I am a bit afraid for her to say she likes me. Though I do know it won't be coming anytime soon. Just afraid of it because we have a bit of distance between us and just knowing that we both like each other and not being able to date would be crazy. But on the other hand it would be nice to know that I used my time wisely and it was worth it.
