Fairly into an older guy who seems my ideal match, we met online: iin?

I've been talking to an older guy (by about seven years) online - mainly through Twitter - for the past year. We're into all the same music, and he sends me old comics whenever he's having a clearout (don't judge us on that one!) He's absolutely lovely, and has more than hinted once or twice that he's into me. He lives absolutely miles away from me, but we're thinking of going to a gig together next month, but as my mum's a strict Christian - actually, she's a vicar - and I generally mention my romantic exploits to her, is it normal enough for me to mention this one to her (and maybe borrow some cash if I don't get paid in time!)?
