Every day is a fresh start.

I think that people shouldn't be mad at someone anymore after they say sorry, and not judge things said in anger. forgive, forget, forgiven yourself.

i've always tried to follow this advice, and assumed everyone else did as well more or less. i compartmentalize my bad memories and humiliation and hatred into little boxes in the back of my mind and sometimes one memory will get loose, and then everything bursts open and next thing you know, nobody wants to accept my friend requests anymore. wish me a happy birthday anyway :)

I disagree. Even if someone apologizes and you accept their apology or peace offering doesn't mean you're saying I immediately am over this. I think accepting an apology is a start in the road to forgiveness and building back trust. I don't think forgetting always goes along with forgetting automatically either for me. That takes even longer for me. I can forgive and still not forget and be cautious. This is just how it works for me.

      This.

Also, my reaction will depend on the person's subsequent actions. If they keep that shit up, they aren't sorry at all.

One of my favorite songs is "I went sky diving. Rocky mountain climbing. I went 2.7 seconds on..." It's all about forgiveness and living every day to the fullest.

all any of those activities are are pictures to put on the fridge. Just because something is a well known tradition that isn't illegal, doesn't mean it's not stupid and dangerous. and without planning and planning throughly in advance, the fullest you'll live is fuckin a stranger without a condom.

Depends on the offense. Sometimes forgiving isn't the answer.

I agree in that every day is a fresh start but that doesn't mean people should get off free from the horrible things they've done.

I don't forgive nor do I forget. Life is too short for that. It's not anger- it's dignity.

However, why would it even be necessary to forgive? Am I the only one who doesn't keep them around after that point? When trust is broken it's broken for me. Don't play around and they won't be needing forgiveness.

Trash is trash, why pick it back up?

With over 7 billion people on earth?? Fuck 'em. Go live it up :)
