Ever feel like your being followed?

Okay, here is my story. Ever since I started Secondary School, I have had to walk home on my own. In Primary I used to walk home with my sister who is 1 year younger than me. Sometimes I walk home with my friend but she can't walk me to my door as we live in different streets.
Anyway, when I am walking home, I always feel like I'm being followed, but when I turn around, no one is there.
It gets worse, sometimes I hear footsteps right behind me and get really freaked out and start running and look like a total loony. When I finally get home I am gasping for breath and my mum asks me what's wrong. But I don't tell her, I'm worried she will think I'm mad or something or being an idiot. This is the first time I've talked to anybody about it. I'm worried about it and I hope you can help. Is it just me? Is it normal? What should I do about it?
Thank you for reading,xx

Could be someone is really watching you, or could be demons. Seriously, pray out loud, use God's name. The Bible says they RUN from the name of God. Jehavah, Yoweh... stay safe, kid.

I think everbody gets this from time to time. You have an in-built 'natural paranoia' sorta thing, everyone does, it's just your senses being alert (imagine all your senses thinking; "...just incase." all at once.)
:) It's fine. (unless you really are being followed, haha, which i doubt :)
I bet you get an urge to LEG IT up or down the stairs in your house too, as if someone is behind you? :P

It sounds like an anxiety disorder or some other kind of disorder causing paranoia. If it's really disrupting your life, then you should by all means tell your parents so they can make a doctors appointment for you. Medication may need to be prescribed if your problem is severe. Otherwise, try some meditation and breathing exercises to get yourself in a calm relaxed state before venturing out.

That's why there is a song that goes..."I always feel Like somebodies watching me!
I have felt that way my entire life. Sometimes I wonder if others aren't just play acting!
