Personally, I write songs, and NONE (except one) have been written about the topic of love. Sure, love is a broad word, but I'm fairly certain you get my meaning. I am tired of songs about romantic love especially. There are simply too many topics out there, interesting ones.
Most love songs now are, I supposed you could say, capitalised. Fans want to picture that their favourite singer/group is singing about them.
Some love songs, especially the ones from the past, could be so good. I can see where you're coming from, though.
I completely agree! I feel like every single song made nowadays is about love or break-ups and stuff. We need some new topics!
You're right about the songs about romantic love. This used to annoy me to no end. There is so much else to explore.
I actually don't mind a song about love, as long as it's well written and the music is profound. It's part of human experience after all. But surely an artist has more to say than that.
There's nothing wrong with that. I too think there are just too many love songs. We need some about hate, drugs, weapons, learning and rotten politicians. Would you write about those, please?
Same here. I write songs and already recorded one CD. Will be recording my next one at the end of May, as well and none of my songs are about love. I write songs mostly link Pink's Dear Mr. President. You are perfectly normal and forget everyone that tries to tell you otherwise. Those who write about love are unoriginal conformists. There are already enough songs out there about love.
