i have this thing for UK guys. i think they are sooo f*cking hot and there accents turn me on more then anything. everything about them just turns me on. maybe because they are foreign and there for mysterious. i dont really know. but i always fantasizing about them and i want to fall in love and marry someone from the UK, thats the only way id ever get married. is that normal?

When I was a teenager in Houston, Texas I was at the West Oaks mall and there was a boy about my age with dark hair, light skin and a handsome face walking around in a kilt and like a little creeper I followed him around cause I was too shy to talk to him. I find it quite amusing that some ladies love English chaps for their accents. What you have to remember is that there isn't AN English accent there are many.

im a Scottish woman that's married to an Englishman and i agree, Englishmen are hot, i don't know how they put up with Englishwomen as they are all ugly and so infantile, and they have an overestimated opinion of their own self importance, and are unrealistically vain, they dress like men and don't take pride in their appearance,they are all overweight, they eat like pigs in public and are miserable as sin, my husband says he would rather live alone than to have married an Englishwoman, im not anorexic, i weigh 105 lbs but the only clothes that i can buy in England that fit me are childrens clothes because Englishwomen have let themselves go so badly.

God, I completely agree, most UK accents and Australian ones just make me drip just listening to them... South African accents bother me though, oddly enough.

I used to LOVE that accent (mainly because it's part of my heritage and it's the only one I can actually pull off..kinda) But now I can't STAND the English accent only because America has been using it so much for advertisements and with game-show hosts that I think it's actually diminishing the original purpose of sounding smarter than we actually know what we're talking about. As our "mother-land" when it comes to founding this nation (Africa obviously being the homeland of ALL human-beings and w/Native-Americans being the REAL founders of this land.. but anyway..) maybe it's been intriguing to dominantly connect their roots with our own, so we use the accent in car commercials and etc.. It's just that because all of those things are incredibly superficial (much like the very reason for "founding" this nation in the first place) the accent becomes more annoying then the fucking product being sold in the first place because what ISN'T real or important cannot possibly be a higher level of intelligence... so basically, we'll advertise a Mercedes commercial with an accent which is broadcasted to everyone in middle-america/southern states in an attempt to appeal to all the "hicks" that say... well nothing, really, because they can't spell some words but HEY at least they're looking like a fancy European who's got too much money to donate any of it.
I understand... It's the variety. I'm a girl from Texas and any time I venture beyond the city I live in people go mad for the accent. Here in Texas we also have many different southern accents...and most make me gag haha!

Its not uncommon for people to be excited by someone with an accent. Its kind of a mysterious change for some people. I've an American friend who actually got a lot of attention from girls in Australia, because they liked his American accent.

hey! im american and a couple years back i moved to england cus my dad and mom wanted a new experience. annnnywayyy english guys do have sexy accents i guess but most of them are kinda assholes and the thing i like the most bout going bak 2 america during the holidays is the guys! so yeah! be happy with what you have!!!!!!! plus english people totally hate americans! seriously!! U HAVE NO IDEA! and for some reason everyone back home (in america) thinks english people are all posh and smart but theyre not really...well not the ones i met.

I dont see what so great aboout us really. The majority act like hooligans and the other half are freakish outcasts. Alot of London is packed in Indian accents (take no offence) or a variety of different nationalities.

The other posters that mentioned a variety of accents are dead-on. It's the same as in the US, how we have southern accents, Boston-accents (where did I pahk the cah ?), etc.
But having said that, I totally agree. I did, in fact, marry someone from England, and discovered that I was more in love with his accent than with him, so it didn't last long.
But yeah, liking an accent is perfectly normal. Just make sure you know what's underneath of it (like you would with any other guy).

Well, UK accents are all different like, some of them are sweet (I like the posh ones), and some of them are like nails on a chalkboard, in my opinion (Cockney, and, if you count it as part of the UK, NI).
