English pronounciation of "my"

My relative in England pronounces "my in law" as "myr in law", sounding like adding an r after the word my, it also sounded like "mar in law", is that common? They also used to like to watch "Law and order" but pronounced it "Lawr and order", or "Lor and order".

Because throwing tea in the harbor is incredibly insulting to us Brits.
