Energy levels throughout the day

Is it normal that when I wake up I feel extremely tired, and as if my bed is a magnet? From here on I usually get a slight energy burst when I arrive at school, which is at 8 am. After about 10 am I start feeling extremely tired and have to fight not to doze off in class, I see double and I feel extremely nauseous. Around three to four pm, when I get home, the only thing I want to do is take a nap. At this point I'm not as dead as I was at school with double vision and all, but I have no energy for anything. Sometimes I take a nap for about half an hour. Around seven pm I start feeling normal energy levels. At eleven pm I feel extremely awake and see everything with tremendous clarity. By twelve I feel as if I could run a marathon and feel very awake and a little hyper. Is this normal? I usually go to sleep between eleven pm to one am and wake up at seven am.

Depending on how old you are you do need a lot of sleep. Young people and teenagers actually need quite a bit of sleep because they are growing. Parents will never admit that , but its true. As long as you're not abusing drugs and alcohol if you feel tired I'd take it as a queue to take a nap. That is , as long as you're healthy in other respects. The body needs rest to recover and grow.

You should ask your doctor. There are many reasons why you would feel that way.

If you are an adolescent it is very normal. Probably just means that your inner clock is messed up from all the restructoring going on in your brain.

If you're older you might not sleep enough, eat wrong, not get enough exercise or have a derpression.

But I'm not a doctor, can't hurt to ask one.

Yes. I'm wide wake when I get up but 2 hours later I'm half asleep at my school desk. But like now, at 9:45, sleep is no where in sight

I'm exactly like this I have been for 3 years since I left school and started working. I'm still a teen and I've been told I need more sleep then Im having but I can't go to sleep early I feel asif I'm wasting the day. I got told 10 hours sleep is the recommend amount for people aged between 14-20 so you just need more sleep.

I'm no doctor but you seem to be getting an efficient amount of sleep at night so there should be no reason for you to be getting this tired during the morning. Make sure you're eating a good breakfast, maybe ask your doctor to do some blood work to make sure you're not low on any vitamins. I'm anemic and before I started taking iron supplements I was always tired!
