Emotionally in love with fictional character

I fall in love with a video game character from chrono cross. His name is lynx. A cat. He has gone viral in my mind for a month now. Seriously, staring at him makes me almost turned on. Maybe i find it weird so i decide to not turn on completely. He is handsome, sexy, manly, hot and i cant describe more because he is just too epic. He doesnt exist so i decided to bring my cat into my bed and sleep with it while hugging it. Then, i imagine i have hot hug and date with him. Too bad, my cat is small in size and it lacks sexy muscular body like lynx so it failed to convince me that i actually hug lynx. It is depressing as my cat can only grow their fur and balls size only. I dont have any idea on how to end this obsession. What do you think about this? Do you have a fictional character obsession too? If you know how to wane my obsession, please give an enlightenment. Ow, handsome lynx...

        *looks at cat's weiner*
Yep, but they tend to be less so if they get neutered before puberty.

!!! Ive actually never seen my cats...he is pretty shy about that kind of thing. He requires a privacy screen around his litterbox :)

Mine has a covered litter box too. Once my sister's poodle tried to go in there for a snack, my Andrew almost karat chopped him.

There are many hot characters in games, music, movies, books etc. but it's important to keep your life full of real people, especially real men, to keep it in perspective. As you said, you are "in love" with this character. This is a waste of time. It's time to get busy with people and tasks and not think so much about Lynx.

Yea, i know...i feel like a maniac drooling over lynx. I am not recognized by people so much. I am just a normal looking person so it's hard for me to build a relationship. Nobody looks as hot as lynx. My brain interprets that. Yea, what a waste of time...

It just sounds like you've gotten out of the loop and fell for a fictional character. It happened to be after college and a called-off engagement. I had to cut back my internet time and try to rekindle my old friendships...eventually after two years of relentless work and socializing, I fell in real love again.

Wow. I cant believe you're still concern to reply. Thanks. Sadly though, i still cant overcome it yet. Do you think this is one of those teenager feeling thingy that will soon past on its own? I am going to find a real partner and put cat ears on. XD

I wasn't sure if you were a teenager or not. Lonely fangirldom can hit a woman at any age depending on circumstances. People act like "Oh, she's too old for that." Ironically, adults are in less social contact with the opposite sex, making emotional love for fictitious characters very likely.
I think it will pass, but I think you'll need to change a few things about your life or else, you will fall in love with another fictional character. I don't know enough about your life to know what needs to change, but something does.

Well, I think 18 years old is still considered a teenager. What are these things that i have to change like you're talking about here? I did fall in love with other fictional character like you said already though. It is solid snake from mgs. He has sexy face and appealing ass.

I've had my own fictional crush, and she isn't human either. She was intelligent of course, genius level even.

It's normal to be attracted to fictional characters - they're designed to be appealing after all - but I don't think it's normal to pretend that your cat is your crush. Why don't you buy a plush lynx or something?

I once gave a heartfelt love confession to a fictional robot.

I'm over him now, but trust me, you're normal.

The statistical likelihood is that somewhere out there on the internet is a man who fantasizes about dressing up as Lynx and having a relationship with an underage girl.

I find myself infatuated with some characters from games and other media. Most people are like this too. Just don't let it turn into an unhealthy obsession and you'll be fine.

Fantasy is perfectly normal but at some point you will prefer real life romance.
If youre 40 and stuck on this still...then you may have a problem.
