Emotional while listening to music

I sometimes get really emotional when I listen to music...specifically radiohead....I don't know what it is. Maybe it's Thom yorke's voice, the arrangements of guitars, keyboards, and synthesizers, to me is used in a way that gets me lost in a "punchdrunk lovesick singalong" One day I was so intune that I started getting teary eyed when I was listening to this song called "let down" my buddy saw me and said dude you need help.....Is that normal??? Does that happen to anybody when they listen to their favorite music?

    I think people that don't have emotions towards music are not normal.

    You should feel blessed that you get this feeling from music. A lot of people have no idea what music really is. They have no idea how to listen to it. Radiohead are my favourite band and I cant agree more with what you said, especially with the song "let down". I can still remember the day that song really hit me. I had never really "heard" it before but then one day it really struck me and now its one of my fav radiohead songs. But just remember "dont get sentimental, it always ends up drivel" haha :P

    Music is an art and art exists to evoke feelings...so yes...it's very normal

    I cried once when I was listening to Pyramid Song. Times like that were I think "Man, Radiohead are fucking amazing".

    I cry a bucket load...... specially if it is the first time I hear it.
    I've learned how to ignore it though when I'm in public...but I still get teary eyed.. just go to the washroom and wipe your eyes.

    Yeah, it happen's to me sometimes. And I listen to Radiohead too. The song creep, alway's made me wanna cry, and fake plastic trees.

    I think the reason why, is because when you concentrate on the lyric's you realize how much you relate, then it hit's you inside deep.

    That's one of the reasons music exists. Alongside storytelling, dancing, and selling us products that nobody needs or wants (when in jingle form).

    I feel that way when I listen to my favorite band evanescence but don't worry music just has a way of getting to people, mixing up ur emotions .
