Electro house or dubstep?

Just to clarify, here are the main differences between the two:

Dubstep - wobble bass, drops, can be chill or super intense, SLOW. Not easily danceable. Examples: Skrillex (Scary Monsters and First of the Year are good examples), Skream, Rusko, Doctor P, Borgore

Electro house - fun, hard, synthy dance music. Four-to-the-floor dance beat, edgy synths, shy wobbles, and very very popular. Can be very heavy and it drops hard and fast. Examples: Feed Me, Wolfgang Gartner, Mord Fustang, Zedd.

I didn't realise that listening to musical genres was mutually exclusive. Fuck… I've been doing it wrong my whole life.

Agree, Skrillex ruined dubstep. It's all about Caspa, Rusko, Trolley Snatcha, Skream, Excision, Datsik, Circus Records...the real shit made by real artists who love dubstep. Skrillex is Deadmau5 protege, just a tool used to make money...fuck skrillex.

Skrillex is good. I don't think he ruined dubstep. I think he made it more accessible and popularized it. It's still easy to find underground dubstep; all he did was diversify the genre. That's my opinion.

That's a tough one to answer because artists like Skrillex and Skream produce both Electro/House and Dubstep tracks, all of which are absolutely fantastic. Being a loyal Skrillex fan, I was torn, but I chose Electro-House because I love that genre with multiple artists, whereas I only enjoy Skrillex's dubstep. Zedd's pretty good too.

I prefer dubstep when it's more in a "chillstep" form.

How about something that doesn't sound like a terminator humping a dumpster :/

Listen to whatever you want but dubstep is just a trend

I genuinely enjoy them both to an extent (their far from my favourite preferences though), but not the mainstream, popular sides of the genres that people usually dance to in clubs. Sorry to sound like an insufferable hipster, but I don't much like anything with wub-wubs or drops (yes, you can get dubstep and EDM without wobbles, drops and "heavy synths"). Don't get me wrong, drops can be really fun, but they feel repetitive and simplistic and as if not a lot of thought has gone into the music.

I totally agree. Although I personally prefer people like Skrillex to more underground and 'classic' dubstep artists, I think that the build-drop formula gets super old. But give me something creative and I'll truly enjoy it. But I think Skrillex is better than a lot of other people on the brostep scene. He's a lot more creative than most UKF stuff, for example.
