Electric shocks at night?

This is really important to me, i'm really happy to be geting this off my chest..
Almost every night I feel a huge painful shock that goes through my body..
It normally happends around midnight, or later.
It's never happened during the day.

I told my mother, and she said she use to get the same things as a child.
And she just never bothered to ask anyone about it.
Its very painful, and scares me because its random.
Also, my ears ring after, and my body feels very sore and unable to move.
And as you can well imagine i have trouble sleeping after, from the mental shock, and the soreness..

Does anyone know what this could be, does it have a name?
Does anyone else have it?

Never heard anything like this before. The others a right, try google-ing it, or see your GP if you can't find any answers.<BR>I do get that thing were my ears start ringing sometimes though, so I'd say that part at least is okay-ish.

You should seek medical treatment - that is way not normal

I have no idea. Do you live with a naughty elf holding a cow prodder by any chance?

Joking aside - you should ask a doctor about it. It could be due to some kind of underlying condition. Good luck!

I just tried googling what I suggested and couldn't find anything. I found auditory sleep starts. Try that

Try googling auditory sleep signal and see if sounds familiar. I've had it happen twice. It was more like a loud zing or pop in the center of my brain that made me feel paralyzed with fear afterward instead of going through my body like you described. I came across the info on accident months after it happened to me.
