I've noticed a trend in heterosexual porn which I don't understand:
Whatever the porn actors are doing, when the men is going to cum, they stop the activity and the men starts masturbating until he orgasms.
I understand that it is important to show the cumshot / ejaculation (viewers like to see it), but I do not really know why it is not done by the porn actress (e.g. her handjob...) instead of the man.
I suppose that most mainstream porn (and that is what I am talking about here) is done for straight male viewers and from the male perspective, so I would suppose that male viewers (the majority of straight porn consumers) would not like to see "male masturbation" instead of a cumshot done by a woman.
For example, if I watch a handjob video, why should I expect that it will end as a male solo?

    I find most porn baffling. I don't want to watch some fake titted skank yelling "mmmyeah fuck that pussy" over and over as some stud jams her arse with his oversized knob that he has to beat every thirty seconds to keep erect. And then I agree OP, I don't want to watch some guy fapping away before blowing his load, even if it is on some ugly girls face.

    Most porn cuts out the undressing (which I find erotic) and focusses on the blunt act only. I like porn to have a story, show a struggle between desire and reluctance and to have natural tits.

      Thanks for your comment, it is good to see that I am not the only one who is irritated by it.
      To the first paragraph of your post - I fully agree with you. That is why I avoided most man on woman porn and I preferred female masturbation videos or lesbians because I was not into this male fapping thing at all. But then again, many female solo or lesbian scenes are totally fake and unnatural which is off-putting too. However, I liked handjobs scenes but only those ones where she did the job, not the man, so it really pissed me off each time when a handjob scene suddenly turned into male solo...

    It may be true that when the porn actor is doing it himself, he is more in control of the timing and direction of his ejaculation - this seems plausible but not sufficient explanation to me. When the most porn viewers are still men, one may wonder why this practice is so common in mainstream straight porn. I'm a woman and I don't have a slightest interest in watching a woman fapping so I completely understand men who are fed up with the practice of male solo replacing all sexual activities when the action is culminating.
    Thinking about it another possible exlanation popped in my mind which hasn´t been mentioned yet.
    One may notice that the practice is often connected with the ejaculation on the woman's face. This may be one of the key factors when it comes to my explanation. Once I've read about a research which may be pointing to something relevant for our analysis. The thing is that the researchers found out that men were looking on the woman´s face when they were watching pornographic materials much more than they were expected. This makes sense when we expect that men want to see the woman´s arousal. Men have erections which clearly show that they are sexually aroused. Women´s genitals change as well when they are aroused but the changes are not as obvious as the erections of men´s penises. However, their sexual arousal can be seen quite well in their faces (of course, it may be faked but this is an advantage when it comes to porn).
    If we suppose that male viewers want to see that the woman enjoys the actor´s orgasm and ejaculation, it´s quite convenient to show her face where the enjoyment is manifested to fulfill the men´s desire for that. It´s much easier to film the ejaculation on the woman´s face when the actor cums during his masturbation. I think that this can be one of the factors which could explain why the practice of male masturbation before the man´s climax is so common in mainstream straight porn.

      Thanks, your theory makes perfect sense and the reasoning behind it is simply brilliant and elaborated in a solid way.

      Although I do not like this way of making the final scenes in videos, my individual case is not in contradiction with your theory, in fact it may even support it to a certain degree because my sexual arousal system is a bit different from the norm as I have a hand fetish, so to me female hands are more relevant than their facial expressions during sex acts, so that may explain why this relevance of seeing her arousal in her face might be a compensation for most male viewers but not for me since I focus my attention on her hands which are suddenly replaced by man´s hands which is a complete disaster for a person with female-hand fetish:)

    Porn, no matter how cleverly done, gets old after a while. There are only so many ways to do it. I've always been of the opinion, ever since I played sports, that it's far better to be a participant than a spectator.
