Eating tonsil stones

I like eating my own tonsil stones and those of others. Whenever I get one and swallow one by mistake i get upset because I couldn't enjoy the goodness. Sometimes when my friends cough one up and see it on the floor i pick it up, examine it and chew it with my front teeth. Is this normal?
