Eating eggs cooked by anybody.

I don't know why, but I've never been able to eat eggs unless I personally know the person that made them. Every time I go out for breakfast and order a Full English Breakfast I eat everything but can't bring myself to eat the eggs.

I've noticed that for some reason food bought at a restaurant or a hotel is always different from what you eat at home. For instance, the colouring is different or it'll taste off. I guess it mostly depends on who's cooking it... You probably don't have to worry about people poisoning your food at a more "classier" establishment as opposed to a dirty diner. When you're at hotels, you could ask if they'll make it the way you like or don't order any eggs.

Yeah, I won't eat eggs unless I know where they came from. Most restaurants will have highly processed hormone/antibiotic fed eggs with little chance of anything growing in it. And they taste like shit. So it's not really a bad thing that you don't eat it.

But I'm the same way with pancakes.

Dig in and enjoy, as long as they been cooked through, and one can usually tell that

Hens eggs are OK usually, if fresh and the oil they are fried in or the water they are boiled in will kill all usual germs. You have to take care when dealing with ducks eggs. If the ducks have no access to dirty and polluted water you are OK but if they swim in dirty ponds the eggs are best avoided unless you fancy salmonella.
Your dislike of eggs you don't prepare yourself is purely psychological. You can either go with it or cure it, it's up to you. If, for example, you like your fried eggs crisp around the edges, try ask for this in an eating establishment or hotel. In other words, ask for them as similar as you have them at home. Some eggs, for example scrambled prepared in cheaper restaurants can be horrible, I agree but then so can cooking at home.

i can't eat eggs unless i've cooked them myself. it's just the way i like them prepared; nobody else can get them quite the way i like them.

That's really funny, because I always thought I HATED eggs but turns out I'm the same way. i just don't trust other people's eggs. I'm fine if I make them myself.

  • Yeah they always look slightly different than if someone you know made them, like the yellow part looks more grey to me. I think it's because you possibly don't trust them with eggs, like you could get sick from it if they didn't make it right or something.
