Eating chips hurts my mouth! is it normal?

When I eat potato chips like lays any kind and any taste I get burning and sore skin on the upper part of my mouth. I chew it like everyother food and am sure not allergic. This only happens with chips no other food? Why? Is it normal?

    It's the salt thats why it hurts.

      Somebody has thumbed you down but if I were to guess I would say it is the salt which is causing the problem.

    That happens to me too, so I think it's normal. For me though, cereal and frozen pizzas are the worst roof-of-mouth exfoliators.

    They scratch the skin in your mouth, and salt causes the burning.

    I hate chips!!!
