I was like that too for a long time wearing size 0 jeans but when I was 22-23 I filled out a little. I'm turning 26 soon and although I'm still small I can tell things are changing...
I was thin and could eat anything until I got older and now count calories because I don't want to gain weight. If you're young, enjoy eating & sitting on your ass but know it won't last forever.
It's a high metabolism. Overeating has a huge thing to do with it, though. If you eat too much of anything except natural things such as fruits and vegetables, you will get fat. Carbohydrates have nothing to do with this, other than the fact that if you eat way too much and eat it without a balanced diet, then your insulin will spike and you will store fat.
This is normal, especially if you're young. Getting fat has nothing to do with overeating or lack of exercise. It's all about WHAT you eat, and how your body responds to that food.
Specifically, it has to do with the amount of carbohydrates (especially refined) that you consume, and how well your body tolerates carbohydrates.
If you're eating mostly sugar out of the box, you WILL get fat.
