E.w.-itorial: i hate the word "selfie".

I despise the word "selfie". It's a cutesey neologism that doesn't indicate any meaning except for "something one does to themselves". So, I suggest we ask the dimwits at the dictionary companies to change the meaning to something else one does to themselves, let's say, fucking, and on top of that, to politely ask them to demonstrate the new definition by properly fucking themselves.

    Despise it as well. I hate so many of these new trendy terms. They're stupid and unnecessary. I would hate to have to spend time with anyone that uses this godawful term. I wish I could slap these people, but I can't.

    Every time someone says this word I mentally throw-up. And I don't think this latest frenzy with them is helping. Are you so conceited or needy of superficial self-worth that you have to take a hundred pictures of yourself every day?

      Yes. A lot people are that conceited. Ironically, the one person who loves to brag online the most out of the people I know in reality doesn't have as many friends as he would like to have. What he doesn't realise, though, is that by treating others around him like shit he drives people away. So that tells you something about the kinds of people who feel the need to brag online.

    Me too. That's pretty much what every shirt they sell at the store I work at says "selfie". If I had a dime for every time I saw that word, I'd be one rich son of a bitch and then I'd gouge my eyes out.

    I'd have to agree. Not only is it a very childish sounding word, it's actually a very ugly word as well. Some of the new digital age words should be uninvented.

    I hate the word 'rachet' now too. It used to be associated with something positive (the tool), now it's used in a negative way to describe someone as looking bad.
