Drugs effect me differently, it seems

I used to smoke weed when I was about fifteen-seventeen and it effected me to far larger extremes than my friends. It was as if I was having a vivid and towards the end of my use, terrifying acid trip every time. I can't even explain it. It's as if I went into another realm and the whole world looked and felt different. The bad trips were horrifying and very intense. I'm nineteen now and have snorted Ritalin a couple of times and it makes me space out as opposed to become hyperactive. Why do drugs effect me so differently than they do everyone else?

  • Yeah, it's normal that you experience them differently.

Weed used to make me very social and active, along with a mellow feeling of euphoria. I could never sleep as long as I was high, yet my best friend would fall asleep within a half hour. Shrooms hardly had any affect on me, yet my friends who ate from the same batch were strongly affected.

Horryfying trips on drugs that dont make you trip and spacing out can be a sign of the fear and anxiety some people get just from the mental stress of knowing you're about to take or are high on drugs.

Sounds like your mind is experiencing extreme paranoia and its doing its best to fight the high feelings youre getting. This is just a guess though, i dont know how experienced or comfortable you are with these things.

This goes along with the previous comment above that drugs do affect everyone differently.
