My Mom has always drank ALOT! Now she is doing it around my children and i HATE seeing her drunk around them! Its a bad influence since they love their g'ma! Am i normal for hatin this?

I think it is totally normal to be worried about this. How can she ensure the safety and well-being of your children if she is drunk. She is not setting a good example either. Our children learn everything from the adults that they are surrounded by. Maybe share your concerns with her, and offer assistance to get her some help. If she refuses to deal with the issue, then maybe not seeing her Grandchildren will prove to be a turning point. Good luck.
I think you should lay it on the line with mom to control herself or: a) you leave her place with kids; b) she will be told to leave your place. Just make it a rule for her and that way she knows that when with you as in so many situations, no getting blotto. That should minimize it, and otherwise she sounds OK - the kids love her.
You are going to need to talk with your own children about drugs & alcohol at some time anyway. Their best example will be you. And you can demystify it as an issue that just affects a lot of people close to any of us, and that one has to make choices around.
im srry try keeping the children away from her a lil so they dont get caught up in the bad influence ........tell her how u feel about it im sure she will probably understand
