Dreams like movies?

Everytime I dream, its like im in a movie. And this isnt a recent occurance, its happened for as long as I can remember.
Sometimes, I think im awake because I get out of bed (in my dream) and everything looks the same. But then I suddenly wake up, (due to a noise or something) and i wasnt sleepwalking it was a dream.
My imagination certainly likes to run wild.
Also, my dreams are long. Most of the time when im writing them down it takes pages and pages.But I heard that the average dream lasts seconds (its hard to believe that tho)
Does everyone have such vivid dreams? Is this normal?

    I always hate those kinds of dreams because, like you said, it's hard to tell if you are awake or still asleep. I've had dreams where I 'wake up' but I'm actually still in my dream. Makes it even creepier if you are having a scary dream because it is so realistic.

    Yeah that happens to me sometimes. I have dreams in 1st and 2rd person perspectives, but in both i never seem to be able to varify the face. Obviously i would remeber my sister or close friend, but i can never dream about someone new. Its always a blurred face or not a face at all...
