Dreaming of the end of the world

My honest opinion on this is that you're afraid to die. Don't be afraid of death, its innevitable or unavoidable. If life was meant to end it would have never began. Life is as perpetual as the universe itself.

Its normal. I started having dreams of the world ending when I turned 18 I'm 20 now. The most recent was lastnight a big tsunami hit and almost every country in the world was flooded. All the dreams I've had were all diffrent. I dont know if you believe in god or the holy bible but there is a scripture that says when the end of the world is near young people will dream it and older people will vision it. I hope this helps. I've had a few apocalyptic dreams. The first one I was in new York and there was an earthquake. I remember feeling it and thinking it wasn't too bad. Then I looked outside the window and it was total devastation. The buildings fell, the trains were crumbled on the floor. Then I was transported to this mountain and it was beautiful and sunny. Everyone was walking in a single file line. Then through the clouds I saw Jesus coming through everyone was clapping and cheering and I thought "and every eye shall see him and every knee will bow." He looked very serious. And behind him there were legions of angels. The next one I was in Dominican
Republic on my way to my fathers house I think there were what looked like comets falling down and hitting houses and things. Then I live in Florida and I had a dream that the water was rising and I was on a. motorcycle trying to outrun the water. Then I was in a helicopter and all of Florida was underwater

Well...I have The End of The World dreams on several occasions...The first one(that I remember)was how we are all directed to go to some kind of a mountain and, I worked on the team of directing and helping people, thinking we are trying to save everyone, but then, I realized that the tablets that I was giving them were not supposed to just let them sleep but they are never supposed to wake up, since, apparently, it was discovered by only the highest people to be known, that the End is not avoidable and they would like to "end their lives without suffering", and it was terrible since at that moment I see my family coming and I don't know what to do, should I take the tablet also or not give it to them...either way is death, at least according to those people...terrible, terrible dream :(
I think I had one in between but I don't remember any more so I'll jump to the one that I had last night...
I can see me and my fiance(btw we have a baby in reality but here I don't see our baby)walking around the town, looking at other people who are mainly drunk or drugged, and we are looking at each other, like should we do it also or just stay sober since we are hopping that it wont really happen. We find a tv somewhere and turn it on, it's in some apartment, the guy on tv is smiling predicting snow and ice...and it's summer. So I am asking my self is that normal to happen or...Well, we decide to sleep there, nobody else seem to care so no one is bothering us.(I can see snowflakes or ash flakes trough the window)Tomorrow, the weather seems better so we decide to go for another place to stay, my fiances former place where he lived for some time, we get there, the place has a fireplace(in reality he never lived in a place like this),2 other people are coming, we are not complaining since no body cares about who stays where, but, I smell something and decide to hold the paper from the matchbox up in the air, and it starts burning so we realize that we have to go somewhere else, but we bring a blanket since outside is getting colder and looks more like what people were saying will happen...The alarm woke me up there...

dreams there like etting high without the drugs man its like....weird i mean they are powerfull dreams can make you do stuff i will tell you one of mines i had this nightmare of a girl i dont even know right well she keeps picking on me i always atbthe end of each nightmare i keep getting laughed at by these shadow figures in one of those dreams she invited me to a party she wasent there but these shadows were i woke up crying my secong one was worse well i wont tell you what happend but i will tell you only this she wears pink flower under when i woke up i wasent crying i dident wake up in pee it was eh ehh man juice gaah its hurts to just to say it but i still was being laughed at my last nightmare was terrifing i was walking upstairs then tht girl popped out of no where an pushed me down the stairs god it looked creepy i was still being laughed those shadow figures x( what i trying to say is that yes its normal ....an lay on the weed

I know this post is a bit old, but I just came across it randomly online, and wow! This actually brought tears to my eyes because I've had this dream (or similar variations) re-occurring for as long as I can remember. I've also had a fair amount of dreams come true in the past, so this is really bugging me. Perhaps it just symbolises the problems we have in real life, or maybe it's something more?

You are probably reading too many conspiracy theory’s.

I used to have a reoccurring dream of a giant tidal wave. I would be walking on a pedestrian sidewalk and a nice day and I see this huge wall of water in the distance... taller than trees and all buildings. It's huge and coming my way and I realize that there's no escaping it. I can only stand there and wait for it to come. I had this dream repeatedly growing up and into my early twenties. Now with all of this end of the world talk, makes me think of those dreams. At the time, I was glad that I lived far inland in Ohio and it seemed like I would be safe from that kind of thing. I always thought to myself that I would never want to live close to a shore because of those dreams. Now, in my forties and due to circumstances beyond my control, I live in Florida. I hope it wasn't prophetic or anything.

I too have dreamed the end of me, And in my dream there is a loud noise then it goes quiet then suddenly birds fly over my head until i see water high in the sky, Every time i think that this time its real and i am going to die.

I have had apocolyptic dreams also.. I had a dream where I was standing in my yard and meteors started hitting the earth, one where the axes traded spots and day became night, Ive had dreams where demons chase me, the devil has stood at the foot of my bed. I dont know if these dreams have any meaning or are trying to warn a few of us of whats to come but I sure hope not!!

I had a dream that the world ended. It scares me. I have never had a like this. The world ended by tornadoes, I saw people die. I was the only person to live. I was floating in the air, as the tornadoes were spinning, and music was in the back round. And then everything stopped. And it the world was a mess. I just don't know what to think. My softball team was in it. I had read similar stories to mine.

First ill tell you that I lucid dream pretty much every night. I've trained my mind to throw me curveballs inside my dreams to fully awaken me inside the dream. Think of it as seeing a lime green gorilla or dancing dolphins, it usually is something odd or out of place.

Second, I've only had 1 apocolyptic dream and my body / mind was glad it was happening. I wasn't lucid dreaming when I had this dream.

The dream started with myself on a large hill over looking a city on a beautiful summers evening. The sun was setting and the sky was covered in red/orange/pink/purple colors. The clouds were pink/purple just like witnessing a perfect sunset in real life. I was just standing there absorbing everything in when I noticed a man and women walked up the hill and stood next to me. They seemed really happy. As I turned back to the sky a hole/portal opened up in the sky and started sucking everything into it. (Black hole?) The ground and city started ripping apart and drifting towards the opening. Everything was getting sucked into the hole. I turned to my left and noticed the couple crying and I asked "why are you crying?" The girl said to me "this is the end, I don't want to die!" I smiled at her and said "my child, this is simply only the beginning." She and her partner both looked at me with wide smiles and honestly they looked like so happy that I said that. Then as everything was sucked away I woke up.

This is the part that gives me goosebumps every time I dream. I feel everything. I feel the suns radiating warm, I feel the cooling summers breeze. I feel the cold water, I feel burns, emotions. I feel everything like I wasn't even dreaming but "living"

Feels good to know that I'm not the only one with these dreams consider yourselves lucky because not everyone can handle these kind of dreams .. and also not everyone can dream these dreams there gods messages there more like visions keep that in mind. The end Is comming soon !

I find it scary that just from reading a few of your comments, there are certain events in all of our dreams that are similar. To answer the basic question, personally, I don't think it's normal to dream these things. At some occasions, I have apocalyptic dreams at nights when I've had no memory (never watched, read, heard, spoke about) the end of the world...so I don't believe there's a rational, scientific explanation as to why we have them.
I've had two different dreams. The first similar to two or three of the dreams I've read from the comments here. For example, the giant waves. A hill (seriously a reoccurring theme in all of my dreams). Giant, flaming metors and tornados. Fire. It was all very real to me, and I kept having the same dream, or a diffferent dream with the same outcome. Sometimes, even the pain would be so real, it scares me.

Hi all, I come across this page in search of a meaning to dreams ive been having. in the past week ive had 3, my first was myself and children looking over a cliff into the ocean where there were rolling tides 100's of feet high...(tsunami type?) then my struggle is to turn around with the children and make my way back through many people coming towards the end of the cliff...like i am rumming from being drowned...i have these tidal dreams often...my 2nd dream, i was in a barn with children and police came in a boat which was represented by a bath tub to warn me the tide was coming in and to get me into the boat, but it kept filling up and i had to keep getting out and emptying it whilst the sky turned red and the rising waters had flames on them, last nights dream, again i was with children i dont know exactly where i was but there was something like a bright light in the sky which i feel represented something atomic and it was getting bigger and consuming everything and i knew this was going to be the end of everything it it got me..i wake up anxious and feel terrible, i hate these dreams and have no idea of the meanings!

ah man .. just the end of the world .. TWICE.. t the birds started pissing blood,crazy rain storm withought clouds. once we all died i was back at the starting of the dream trying to tell people that were drifting toward the sun and were all gonna burn up then venus cought fire. a lady kneeled down looked at me and said do it so we grabed arms and i lifted her up ... it was close to the end everything went dark again and i woke up.. man it was scarry i saw trough the telescope and SAW venus go directly in the sun and burn up into nothing and i new we were next.. i witness venus fall into the sun and we were next

its normal... i think. this has happened to me also. i used to have dreams of a nuclear bomb hitting Los Angeles, or a Tsunami in Santa Monica, crazy stuff. I never found out why i kept dreaming shit like that but eventually it stopped after a month.

you may have some small amount of prophetic ability, though prophecy is a volatile skill. the brain can only handle so much, and if you could predict more than a few seconds in the future reliably you'd become a vegetable.

but remember: Dreams almost NEVER have meaning. dreams are the absolute extent of your imagination, and are caused when your subconscious connects random memories during REM sleep. If you where feeling strongly emotional towards a memory while you fell asleep, related memories are likely to appear in your dreams of that nite. remember; your brain stores EVERY single feeling, sensation, emotion, sight, and all feedback from ur senses in ur longterm memory, accesssable by ur subconscious, but only certain meomories are accessable bay your frontal lobe.

Maybe a movie, book, picture, daydream, or anything really triggered your dream sequence, and the more you worry about it, the more you'll dream of it. relax, its nothing.
