In junior high my friends thought it was the shit. I've never liked them tho :/
In very small doses, Dragonforce is excellent. But a whole album of them is unbearable.
They may sound good on record, but if you listen to how fast Herman li's vibrato is (its inhumanely fast) you realise that they can't actually play the songs, they just speed up the recording. They are pretty good musicians, and they write some pretty cool and original music, but its kinda cheating, and I don't think they deserve the credit.
If you want insanely fast guitar playing, listen to shawn lane, rusty cooley, Michael angelo batio, Paul Gilbert, yngwie malmsteen etc.
That's true. They lack skills to play and even worse...... I saw a video where Herman Li was using some electronic ring that works like a whammy bar and he was raising his hand up and down. Isn't that like.... cheating?
No, they can't play their songs live. And it's clear they use fast forward. Stratovarius is a 1000000000000000 times better.
