Donnie dark is a !@# great film or what???

Wait for this shit then, they are making a sequel it's called A Donnie Darko Tale.

Is it just me or do you know this is going to be a steaming pile of turd (Even though yes I love the original film)

I adore this film! Most of my friends don't get it, but I don't mind.

I liked it :) It was one of those things that seemed to stay with me.

Not too keen on the sequel idea though.

I'm iffy on the soundtrack, but the score is super beautiful.

I don't see how it was cryptic. I got it the first time. It's about fate, paranormal time-hole theories, and an angsty high school boy. A big, dark, beautiful "What if?".

Kind of sad to realize that because you're alive, your loved ones die. So in the end, Donnie Darko decides to stay in bed so the people he loves can live.

i heard about it but never watched it yet.

I watch it 3 times a week...

Sstory? There is no story; it's a pointless, boring, emotionless piece of turd that only interest the type people that look into things too much, so that they see what isn't really there.

S.Darko isn't as good, and it doesn't really have much to do with the first one. But I loved Donnie darko.

I love "Donnie Darko" and I recently saw "Mr. Nobody" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0485947/). It is also a great movie and if you liked DD, I recommend this one too.

Just watched it again today. Great movie but the second one, S. Darko was HORRIBLE! If you like these weird types of movies then check out Mullholland Drive.

I actually watched this movie last night for the first time and I can't secid if I like it or not. It was sorta confusing and had the most random stuff in that movie:

This movie was crazy. I seriously think this movie somehow makes us insane.

The only flaws with Donnie Darko: too much ambiguity and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Every single line in that movie is significant in some way, which is amazing. They already made a direct to DVD sequel, it's called S. Darko and it's horrible. Different writers and cast and everything.

It's certainly normal to like the film, though I disagree that it is somehow inspired. These little metaphysical twists have been embedded in movies for years. Jacob's Ladder was a great example, and there were others before that. Love the genre.
