Don't understand why guys can go topless but girls can't

Let's face the facts, guys have boobs and nipples too. For guys that work out, their boobs lose the fat and get full of muscle, and they're called pecs. For fatter guys, their manboobs are similar to girls boobs. So if guys can walk around without a shirt being topless then girls should be able to walk around topless without a bra or bikini. I don't understand why society discriminates against women like that just because girls boobs are more fluffy

    It's because women's breasts are seen as sexual areas, and so is indecent exposure if shown in public. If this was to not be classed as indecent exposure, then it would have to revoke the "sexual area" status, which means if touched, would not be classed as sexual harassment, assault.

    So, it's one or the other.

      I think pecks and abs on a guy are pretty sexually appealing. I think of them as sexual areas on a guy, as well. So should guys wear shirts? It's sexual assault on a man if I walk up to him and rub his abs and grab his ass, whether or not he's wearing clothes. Any sexual act that violates your body is still sexual harassment whether you're wearing clothes or not.

        Society discriminates against people and lifestyles they dont know, dont like or dont want to understand. The "moral majority" feels the need to tell the rest of us what to like, feel, do, and even what we should or should not wear. Society accepts same sex relationships, interracial, and even female impersonators, but majority of society does not yet accept guys that wear bras, lingerie, and are known to be crossdressers. If society can accept that aspect of lifestyles then that would be a big leap forward in the "live and let live".

      A man is allowed to show his chest in public, but groping a man's chest without consent is still sexual harassment by any sane definition.

      It isn't about whether the area is sexual but whether the tone of the touching is sexual or not. You could sexually harass someone by touching their forearm in a sexual way, and you could innocently touch a woman's breast or a man's crotch by accidentally brushing against it.

      I was going to bring up this point but Itduz already did. Society makes us cover anything that is deemed sexual. Boobs, Vag, penis and butt are all considered sexual parts of the body. Someone having boobs since they are fat is not the same as people getting boobs because they are have "Sexually matured".

      Don't get me wrong. I want women to wear bras so they "support" their breasts. Otherwise by the time they're 40 women will have saggy tits like they do in Africa. But women should have the freedom to go topless whenever they want also

    Guys only get "manboobs" (which aren't even boobs in my opinion because they dont't lactate, well they can but since their mammary glands are significantly smaller than females', they don't lactate as often) when they start to produce estrogen, or the "woman hormone" when they're supposed to be producing testosterone.

    That's why doctors prescribe testosterone supplements when guys start to form larger/feminine breasts, and when a person is changing their gender they start to take the opposite hormone in supplements, to make their own body start to produce it as well.

    As for the whole morally correct/society excepted thing... in a lot of countries (an example could be Austria, I know from personal experience) being nude is neither considered immoral nor taboo because for thousands of years they have thought of the human body as something beautiful and to be admired while in America, showing off your body has acquired a negative and sexual connotation.

    But since we're being honest, I'm sure most guys would agree with the creator of this poll just because they'd love to be surrounded by boobs as often as possible for their own sexual desires.... come on now -_^

    Because most girls have enough self-control not to run up to a shirtless guy and grab and suck his tits. Guys? Not so much, if women walked around topless too many guys would either assault them or get into car crashes watching them...

    Stupid double standards. That and peoples' dumbass, outdated belief that nudity is "wrong" and "indecent". It's not either of those things and people only call it bad because they don't understand it. They're afraid. Nudity is natural yet it's frowned upon as if it's not. Yeah, like people are born WITH clothes on. We're ALL born naked. Give me a freaking break. It's 2014. It's about time (Long overdue actually) that we allow nudity and FINALLY accept it for the innocent, natural, and beautiful thing that it truly is. No more requirements for nudist colonies, closet nudists, and no more body-shaming (This is one reason why there's so much low self esteem). Don't give me that bull that clothes "Keep one's sex drive down" or "protects you from sexual assault". No, they don't. They only make it harder for predators to get to your skin and nether areas.
