Don't legalize weed!

Stoners and non-stoners hear me out, before we start a protest or before we even care let's take a moment to think this through... should we legalize weed? I'm not talking about the serious stuff but those little things that are subject to change.

Naturally we resist change, unless it's a new doritos flavour. We won't be having that high grade weed that's grown underground that's meticulously trimmed and taken care of by Jerry (whoops) but it would be grown by a commercial farmer looking to get the most out of it while doing less. Imagine getting stoned together with your father... it won't be cool anymore for teens.

...wait, the tax. So, because you won't have to go down the street again you'll have to pay more, need a perspective? Starbucks.

    I live somewhere that weed is legal and can say it's pretty good quality here. Everywhere I have been where it is illegal, it sucks.

    The good thing is you wont have to get it from shady dealers anymore you can get it whenever you want, not have to spam your phone for weed out of desperation.

      Yeah and it would help out with not falling into the wrong crowd cause some dealers get into deep shit you don't want to be around.

    Why not? We have legal things that are bad for us, like cigarettes and alcohol and cars and television. Why can't we make up our own minds about our own lives and the way our lives should be lived?

    I don't want to be told that something is illegal because I'm too stupid to work out that it's bad for me, and - worse - to be told that by people who are stupider than I am.

    Seriously, think about that situation for a second.

    If pot is legal, then the growers can play around with the genetics, share ideas, seeds, etc. and processes and develop some incredible strains. If not the furtive underground grower just plants and harvests as quickly and easily as he can., so your premise here is flawed.
    I seriously doubt that legal weed will ever be more expensive than getting busted and having to hire a lawyer, etc. so you are way off base there. Just how much is not having to be paranoid worth to you?
    I'd much rather my money went to the government than some murderous drug lord in Mexico; how about you?

    I think it should be legalized. Pot is not like cigarettes. Instead of cursing it's user with a horrible addiction (like Cigs), Pot is a natural-occuring plant and it makes you relax. I know I never tried the stuff before but if it ever becomes legal on a national scale, I'll definately smoke some. It's amazing how stupid our laws and gov't can be (A 17-yr-old can go get killed in a war but if you're not 21 you cannot even drink a friggin beer because you're "Too Young" and "Drinking's Bad, Mmmkay?". If anything, this should be reversed). It's 2014 and we still don't have alot of important stuff legalized. Our gov't can't even keep itself out of a woman's uterus (To those lurking, Pro-Birth Assholes: Why u no get the fuck out from my body?!) I'm sorry. I kind of went off topic there.

      Cigarettes, whether made from tobacco, pot or poison ivy are all made from naturally occurring plants. Snake venom is natural but it doesn't mean its good for you.

      But don't get me wrong, I don't think it should be illegal.

      Its not any healthier either. Drugs, weed, alcohol, cigarettes. They are all bad for your health. None of them are better and all effect the human body in negative ways. Even medication has side effects and weed is no different.

    Problem is, every drug- alcohol, nicotine, caffeine,etc. -should be illegal or constantly monitored because of either psychological OR biological dependency. I say OR because technically weed isn't addictive, but it definitely is a gateway drug.

    However, I say the battle is already lost. See what alcohol did. If we ban Mountain Dew, people would start illegally purchasing it.

    I say legalize and tax it to death, like cigarettes or beer. Make the idiots fall and bleed while the strong stay stronger.

    There are too many people who can't get a job because of a weed conviction. Too many people in jail because of weed possession. The harm caused by the illegality exceeds the benefit.

    It would be awesome for teens to think up another way to be "cool" ....other then what their parents and grandparents already did before them.

      I have to ask you; why? What's so special about your generation? Isn't there some solace that folks like me, your grand pa's age I'd guess, have been getting high long enough to completely disprove all the bullshit about pot being harmful? We have proved that one can smoke pot, have a great life, families and success without any drawbacks? I'll bet you won't be able to say that in 50 years about some of the newer ways to be "cool" that are out there today. I'd love to see some of these tats the girls are getting, after 35 years, when their skin is sagging and flabby. Actually, on second thought, no I wouldn't, yuck.
      There is nothing new under the sun. It has all happened before and it will all happen again.

          Many people of the world take days of fasting to get to exactly the same place, (can we call it spiritually?) that pot puts you in after a good joint or two. What's so disgusting about that?
          The really nice thing about pot is that it is not addictive, so one appreciate life with it or without it. Which seems to be a choice you would rather they don't have. Hum.

            4. It smells.
            5. It's glorified and overrated by rap artists
            6. Being drug-free is healthier.
            7. People who do it are usually lazy and pathetic.
            8. IT IS ADDICTIVE you idiot. If you smoke it ALL THE TIME, guess what, you're addicted. Why do people say "smoke weed everyday?" BECAUSE GUESS WHAT, they're addicted.

            10. It's EXTREMELY unsophisticated.
            11. You have to get it illegally, which shows pathetic desperation.
            12. Doing it is cowardly. If you are depressed, seek advice, not drugs.
