Why get pissy about someone hoping you have a good meal?
I mean they could always be saying, "I hope you choke" instead.
Where I currently live, people don't say Bona petite.
I don't even remember ever being told that in France.
I like to eat in peace.
I don't like eating out, because sometimes the waiter will come and ask if I need anything, etc.
I understand that it's part of their job, but please just leave me be!
Yeah, I feel like they avoid your space somehow. Just hope it doesn't get you TOO mad, because that would be ridiculous.
I guess it's a cultural thing, I grew up in the UK and nobody says that but yeah I do feel like punching them in the face :D
We speak french here and we all say bon appetit when we sit together to eat. If i'm eating and somebody i know passes by and wishes me bon appetit, i just find it pointless, not obnoxious lolll
