Does wanting a fursona make you a furry? furries please answer

I've always liked animals, anthro characters and fursuits can look kind of neat too, but I feel like I can't call myself a furry because I'm not strongly, if at all, interested in the idea of anthros or the community, furry roleplay, conventions, fanfiction, books (examples: Warriors), video games (ex: Star Fox, Sonic the Hedgehog, Night in the Woods, etc), or movies (ex: Zootopia, Disney's Robin Hood, Kung Fu Panda).

I'm not otherkin/therian either, I think I just like the idea of an alter ego or accurate animal representation of myself to act as an avatar.

    Nothing wrong with liking things... also - you don't have to be into the things you've mentioned to be a furry. Most people who are furries are for various reasons. You dont have to be into conventions or rp or anything like that, it's perfectly fine to just like anthro stuff.

    If you don't feel like you are 1,then it's fine and if you feel like you might consider yourself one then it's also fine. Not like there's anything wrong with being a furry.

    As a furry, I don’t believe you have to be labeled as a furry because of an interest purely in anthropomorphic animals.

    At the same time, don’t feel like you can’t be a furry because you don’t enjoy certain aspects. I find myself really only interested in the art side of it.

    Furries for some reason have a very, very high percentage of communist supporters. Perhaps its comes with the state of mind required for communism to sound good.

    your problem is yku are hanging out in zoo communities without being zoo yourself. But if you wsnt a mascot uniform go for it. Fuck it man. Do what makes you happy. However read what its like to be one first. Its not exactly a effort in comfort

      I don't hang out in zoophile or furry communities though? I've read and there's a lot of variability in what can be called a furry, so I don't know if I'm considered one. But even if I am one, I don't identify with the term. I don't know if that's okay with furries or not and if they'd still think of me as a furry

        Who knows man. Find yourself some old school furries theyll be super chill with you. Newsvhool ones are fuvkjng physcopaths.

        Honestly the way to differentiate them is just ask their age. If they 35+ probably old school. If younger err just avoid them.

          people are just people. Some will "click" with you and some won't. Judging people by their age just isn't the way to go :'D

            furry was invented by an animal loving group so they could connect pre internet. It was like a password. If u knew it u were one if them. Now its being followed by people who hate the creators. Imagine loving peanut butter but hating black people with a passion. Its crazy.

            Anyways those newer ones tend to be violent n junk
