I was trying to come-up with a punishment that is worse than the death penalty. How about this:
Have your eyes, ears, nose, tongue, genitals, arms and legs amputated and forced to spend the rest of your lifetime in that state, as a vegetable, unable to ever experience any joys of life again. It's just you and your mind for the rest of your life.

Thankfully we have a constitution in my country so we dont do this. I dont think its right to do that to anyone.

There are alot of things worse than the death penalty. Death is a merciful thing in many situations.
I think they should give serial killers medications that give them akathesia. It's this feeling that makes you wanna jump out of your skin. And you pace,and try to sit down,only to jump back up again.
Too much, too expensive. Even rape doesn't deserve such punishment... Just give the bastard the chair and be done with it.
The only use I could think of for such an extreme punishment is to punish USSR criminals/ officials responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths.
There's a movie with this plot, similar atleast. I believe Helena Bonham Carter starred. I'm sure it's not difficult to find and I'm amazed that my worldly wise comrades here have never seen or heard of it.

I remember making a substitute for death penalty. Keeping prisoner in the centre of a pool of salt water and scratching their feet and hands and keeping food and freedom on the other side on the bank. They want it, but they can't get down because they will get hurt in salt water
I can think of worse but I'm not even going to burden anyone with the sort of things I'm weirdly capable of imagining. It's hard enough for me.

That's a myth. Been on the dark web, seen the worst places. They dont do that, because they can ship them as just wholesale slaves.
