I've noticed that on this website that if you are in an argument with someone and the other person can't think of a good come back to the argument, they start to make comments about your grammer and spelling. For example:

I was arguing with someone on this site about how it's wrong to ban pitbulls and I was giving them reasons why it isn't ok and that pitbulls have been used for service dogs, therapy dogs ect... we go back and forth about this topic and eventually the people who I am arguing with can't think of a logical reason of why they should be banned and distroyed so they comment on my grammar and spelling.

I'm not the only people they do this to. I've seen people do it on other peoples boards. Part of me thinks it's funny that they can't think of a good come back but the other part gets pissed off because they take shots at other peoples imperfections. It this normal?

    Why do you keep deleting the comments of everyone who disagrees with you? I looked at the subject you're talking about and it was NOT just because of your bad grammar, it was because you didn't know what you were talking about, made ridicouls comments, and attacked others.

      I'm not deleting anything. I don't even know how to delete comments. If it were true that i deleted everyone who disagrees with me, please tell me why the hell I haven't deleted klondikesam or others like him?

    You should tell the truth. The others in that argument gave a lot of valid reasons why pit bulls should be banned, but you kept making stupid comments and accusing everyone who disagreed with you of all being the same person. I didn't take sides in that argument, but you were certainly not the innocent you are pretending to be now.

    I agree that it's stupid to stoop to that, but I agree with the person above who said that bad grammar lessens the validity. Reading comebacks full of errors makes the reader feel that the writer isn't smart enough to be believable. Sad. But true.

    No. Bad grammar pisses me off. When I'm arguing with someone who has bad grammar, I don't feel as though they are intelligent enough to bother arguing with.

    Just make them feel intelligent. You can know the entire dictionnary by heart you can still easily be a 100 pct idiot. Its just the moron's trademark. Who gives a shit how its writen, truth is truth. And yeah i always get very upset about this cuz i'm actualy french. And bilingual. And 95 pct of the people who will comment on my grammar only speaks english. That pisses me off. Damn fags

    Everyone makes grammatical errors now and then because there is no spell-check or preview on this site. But the person who posted this topic made an unbelievable amount of errors in the post he's talking about. He also claimed to be an expert on pit bulls, although he does not, and has never, owned one; and made really stupid comments such as why not kill unwanted children the same as unwanted animals, etc. THAT is the reason people started ribbing him about his poor grammar.

    I'm not so sure about this... Bad grammar and spelling always seem to lessen/cheapen the validity of your argument. I've seem some nonsensical rants on here that would make any self respecting elementary school teacher weep. Then again, I can go to the opinions/assholes argument.

    There is no breed of dog called pit bulls. Pit Bulls are dogs trained to fight in a pit. The dogs most often used are terriers and most often of them are Staffordshire Terriers. If you go to the AKC site you will find these dogs have such a gentle disposition that they are recommended for children. Staffordshire Terriers are not Pit Bulls and if you disagree I promise to not correct your spelling or grammar, mine is not so good as I can cast stones.

    Don't get me started with pits. I have 2 and they're the sweetest dogs ever. I'll never NOT have a pit. Best dog ever!
