Does this mean i have add??

Just tried a friends Adderall (recreationally) and they make me feel like crap! No energy no great feelings of any sort! In fact it made me slightly drowsy :-/ Ive also never been diagnosed with ADD. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it normal?

An intelligent answer would be to not take your friend's medication.

Oh and in very rare cases, individuals have reported experiencing extreme tiredness or lethargy, constipation or changes in bowel habits, sudden and uncontrollable shaking of the body, profuse sweating without physical exertion, erectile dysfunction or a lack of sexual desire.

Adderall comes in different dosages so that could possibly be dangerous. Adderall has a high potential for abuse and addiction. It can cause seizures, heart attacks, high blood pressure, stroke, and death. The risk for this is even higher when the product is being abused by someone who has not been prescribed it. When a doctor is taken out of the equation, people can never be sure what dose they are getting or if it will send their bodies into shock. For these reasons, it is one of the most dangerous drugs to take recreationally. Common side effects of Adderall usage or abuse include anorexia, dry mouth, chronic thirst, the development of sleeping disorders or generalized difficulty sleeping, chronic headaches or migraines, pain in the stomach, high blood pressure, sudden and unexplained weight loss, mood swings or other emotional changes, nausea with vomiting, sudden dizziness or fainting, a generalized feeling of weakness or tiredness, a sudden spike in heart rate, a higher risk of infections, unexplained fevers, heartburn, chest pains, and a slowing of growth in children. Those who use the drug for an extended period of time may also experience severe withdrawals, periods of depression, and with extreme abuse, amphetamine psychosis. So please this drug is to be taken seriously. If your not diagnosed with ADD DON"T TAKE IT!

If you're so concerned about ADD maybe you should see a doctor? I don't mean that in a mean way either, it's just so much easier and more accurate to ask a doctor that type of thing. You probably don't have ADD, sometimes when people take medications they have opposite reactions. When I was younger if I drank caffeine I would get sleepy and if I took valium I'd get really hyper. Over time that's changed though and now I get hyper when I drink coffee, etc... Your reaction to the medication is not the indicator for ADD. Think, do you have trouble concentrating, do you daydream constantly, can you never complete or finish things? If you answered yes to all of those and feel those things interfere with your life then maybe you do have ADD. But if you never noticed those things before, or ever worried about them before, then you shouldn't worry about being ADD.

@hiimacoolcat- The question I asked here was not "is it ethical to take medication not prescribed to you"... I wanted to know what various ppls reactions have been to adderall- ppl that have ADD and ppl who don't. I dont understand why ppl feel the need to tell me not to take it- i already took it, get over it. I figured that since everyone and their uncle nowadays gets diagnosed with "ADD" that some people would give helpful feedback re: their own experience. I know that people fake ADD to get prescribed amphetamines, i see it all the time. I have been told that Adderall causes increased energy and hyperfocus in people who dont truly have ADD. Ppl with legitimate ADD are usually made to feel calmer and sometimes sleepy from Adderall... Anyhow i used to think IIN was cool but clearly the majority of ppl on here are haters so im leaving. Ppl like "hiimacoolcat" are so lame i can barely stand it... Nice user name btw, im sure youre really "cool"....

That's not a normal reaction to aderall for either an ADD person or a non ADD. Well I don't really know the non-ADD reaction but I know the ADD one and it is not it. You
Probably had a bad reaction to it. Dont worry just dont take it again

No it doesn't mean u have add- I do, and I've found that different people have different reactions to medications. If you have trouble focusing in general and your reaction to the Aderall was to be a lot more focused and productive, then that would be another story.
