Does this include me?

In an attempt to help my social anxiety and give myself some experience I'm applying for a volunteer job as a warehouse assistant for the British heart foundation, I've known two people apply for the place before and both got the position so I'm expecting an interview at least if I apply, problem is I'm overweight, less than I used to be but I'm still overweight, on the application form it states that the job involves heavy lifting, often up and down stairs so the candidate must be physically fit.
I'm not sure if it means that I must have enough strength for heavy lifting which I do or if it means people who are overweight will not be accepted for the job, so, shall I apply, nothing would be worse than getting to the interview and being told I " won't have the endurance " for it or some other way around saying I'm too heavy for the role

yes it does, don't apply 3
it could do, it depends, apply and see what happens at the interview 10
no, it means people who would have trouble heavy lifting, apply 4
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I don't see how NOT applying is in any way a good thing. If you can't do the work, well then you can't. But if you can and they need you, then everybody's happy.
Of course you are self conscious about being over weight; we all are. After all, few of us are perfect, right?
But that shouldn't be a reason not to try, for this job, or anything else. Go get em, tiger....

How is that the worst thing? If you apply and they reject you, who cares? You're not doing it for the money.

    • It's the worst thing because I'm very self conscious of my weight, that would humiliate me

If they say anything, just tell them the job will help you lose weight.

I used to move furniture for a living and half the people I worked with were overweight and some were even what could be called obese, they worked in the Texas heat right along with me. I think with some patience, persistence and a healthy diet it could even be good for you over time.
