Taking any kind of drug or drinking any kind of alcohol does not make you a criminal.

Rolling out of bed at 6 am in the morning stealing your daddys gun walking out half-naked with a coffee mug in the other hand shooting things while yelling at people.. Yes..

That IS gonna turn your booty into Prisonmeat.

  • I have so far at age 25,

Smoked weed, cheated my taxes, vandalised public and government property, shoplifted, drunk drove, assaulted men, assaulted women, sold weed, sold alcohol to minors, hit a pregnant woman, slept with underage persons, carried a concealed weapon, commited fraud, larceny, discharged a firearm without a license, been in possesion of illegal pornography and breached restraining orders.

And I would certainly not consider myself an overly criminal person, welcome to Australia.

      • It really isn't, half of those things were just me when drunk. The other half were very minor, but the charge "sounds" serious.

I'm not an overtly criminal person, I'm not in and out of jail, I don't hang around with career criminals, I have a very short criminal record. I tend to do weird shit out of boredom more often than not.

technically driving 1mph orer the speed limit makes you a criminal. but that dont mean your bad. but smoking weed makes you both a criminal and bad.

I once helped a guy I used to get weed from smuggle a harvest of "Blueberry" across state lines. I don't feel bad about it in anyway but I am grateful to God that we didn't get caught! At the time I figured that if I got away with it I'd have a fond memory for old age.

Alcohol should be illegal, weed should be legal.

The fact that you have an urge to do something taboo is nothing...the fact that it apparently bothers you is something. Smoking pot is actually pretty stupid, but everybody does some stupid things, we all do. Breaking the law, even something minor, if you are an honest person, creates a little jagged knife in your side that will stab you from time to time in many ways, conscience, anxiety, guilt, shame. We all have them, try to not make too many but forgive yourself but remember you can really screw up by doing things that are taboo so take notice that you can be caught. Get it on your record you smoke pot (or flunk a polygraph or admit you smoke it while trying to get a job, you are going to have some doors slammed in your face. Nowadays even a DWI or a DUI can do the same thing. In the modern world there is no forgiveness (or forgetfulness due to the computer age) to getting caught at what is aberrant behavior.,.it is a societal way of winnowing out the competition. And in the modern world there is very little chance of redemption.

Things dont determine who u are, if ur bad or not. Its your actions and morals. tommythecat has the right idea. Ive done alot of things just as tommy has but i consider myself a good person. I smoke regularly, i think it has only helped me become a better person. its all about intent, just know who u are and be u, not what society believes makes a good person

Technically it makes you a criminal because it's illegal. But in my opinion I think it is a very stupid crime. I don't smoke weed myself but there are FAR worse things out there that the police should be worrying about than weed. Also doing it does not make you a bad person. I have friends who do it and they are good people. Doing something as trivial as smoking weed doesn't make you a good or bad person.

    Your question doesn't apply to
me because I live in CA but then again I don't smoke either. Smoking weed or doing other drugs doesn't make you a criminal unless you go out looking for trouble in my personal opinion. Nothing wrong with doing drugs as long as it doesn't change who you are and how you act.

Smoking weed doesn't make you a bad person but you will be adjudged as a criminal according to the law. I suggest you to not to do it anymore. It's just a suggestion. It's your life and choices are yours. :)

It is a hard one because the consumption of weed is either criminalised or legal depending on jurisdiction. So in the eyes of the law it does make you a criminal if you smoke weed in a jurisdiction that criminalised weed.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with weed. If you can function and sustain a quality of life that doesn't affect others and your duties why not? The problem arises is when one "abuses" the drug by letting it get in the way of priorities.

I myself used to smoke weed and it got to a point where my consumption got in the way of my exams and the ability to function so I stopped because I believe I lost my "right".
