Does he still like me?

There's a guy who just came to our school last year, me being one of the shy people in our year thought that i was invisible to him until everybody was saying that he liked me, he's tried to talk to me before but me being the akward girl i am just froze and made things weird. We have to work together every week in groups but i have not spoken to him for weeks. I like him but im scared i'll mess things up. So many other more "cooler girls" have a crush on him but there all friends. plus i always catch him looking at me in the middle of class. Please help me, im so confused!
