Does fate really happen?

Have you ever found someone through fate? All the sayings around that I hope are true.
I met someone a few days ago, the chances are I won't meet him again, I met him twice and didnt get the important information to contact him with. He was a lovely gentleman, and me being thick forgot all about it.
Maybe he's gone home, but maybe he's thinking of me and will look for me in the resort we met or maybe fate will make us bump right into each other?!
I hope!
Has fate ever brought you to someone?

I don't believe in predestination and all that superstitious numbing jumbo.

  • Fate is a stupid concept. It implies that the future is already written, which I don't believe it is. Life is random and the only thing we have control over is our personal choices. Nothing is meant to be.

I really believe in fate. I don't think life is a tightly written script that we have no control over but I do believe fate presents us with opportunities which we either accept or decline. I know in my own life, fate has brought me to a point where I am working and living in a place I was destined to be. I believe we all have a purpose in life and a place in the world.

I have met people who have influenced my life in a positive way, who in the smallest ways have inspired me to change my life for the best. They weren't no damn random ass man though. That's what fate was trying to save me from - the usery of a damn man that I thought I was meant to be with forever. To be fair, horrible experiences can be the works of fate as well.

Sorry for the cynicism. I haven't vented on here in a while.

I doubt it. But if it is real I'd probably just kill myself because that is the only way I think life could be truly meaningless. That would have probably been predestined anyway . . .

Wouldn't your experience have been more beautiful if it all happened by chance in this indiscriminate universe where almost everything is not sentient and uninhabitable?

The idea of your meeting being predestined takes all the majesty out of existence. Don't let some not existent force determine your life. Get the fuck up and go look for him if you feel so strongly about it. That would be far more effective than just sitting at your computer telling people that you hope to see him again.

Didn't you ask about this guy at a resort several days back, in another post?
