Does asking a guy if he's single imply you like him?

I have an eye on someone that I'm friendly who works the next building to mine. I don't know if he's married or has a gf.We don't have mutual friend so my only option is to directly ask him.I want to say something like"So are you married''?If he says no,I will follow up with 'do you have girlfriend"?Would that a signal that I'm interested in him?

I think it probably depends on how you ask the question as well as tone, inflection, body language, eye contact, etc.

If he doesn't get that you are interested after "Are you married?", and "Do you have a girlfriend?" Then he is either profoundly stupid, or Completely disinterested in you.

The only way you could be more obvious you were interested is if you walked up, flashed your tits, and said "how about a fuck?" LOL

Asking about relationship status = I'm interested, but smart enough to ask first.

There's no need to ask two questions. Simply asking, "Do you have a girlfriend," will naturally trigger the other person to politely correct you if they're married. If you don't want him to be suspicious of your feelings so soon, then ask him out to something local, like a festival or something in your community and causally slip in, "You can invite your wife or girlfriend if you want." Two things will either happen:

    1. "Okay, that's a great idea. Let me see if she'll be interested in going." If you get anything along those lines, then he's taken, and you can simply invite another friend with you to the outing so you don't feel awkward.

    2. "Oh... yeah. I don't have a girlfriend or anything." If you get something similar to this, then you're good. You can easily respond with, "No worries, I'm single too. But that's okay, it can be just us then!" Well, you can use your own words, but you get what I'm saying.

    Good luck.
