Does anyone else do this?

I'm obsessed with dreaming. Every morning I wake up to read what my dreams mean. I've thought about them so much that while I'm in a dream sometimes, I'll realize that I'm dreaming. It used to be "Holy sh*t! I'm dreaming!" and I'd forget a few seconds later. Now it's "Hey, I'm dreaming again" and I'll start controlling things in it. I've flown many times, and once I made a time machine appear because I wanted to see what would happen in the future (It didn't work because it was more like an ATM with no door...). Another time I seduced someone. Heh. I've gotten into analyzing them, and when you're dreaming, things are often more hazy and your thoughts are really loud and isolated. There's sort of a "Mute" button on, but with your thoughts going so to speak. Anyway, I'm thinking that not a lot of people do this, but it's normal to do.

  • This is absolutely normal. It's called "lucid dreaming" when you control your dreams. It takes some people a lot of time to develop the skill. Once you do, it's lots of fun cuz you can do things you never could in real life.

  • Before actually falling asleep i will create a sinario, sometimes it would be cute, like i find my future husband while skiing (: or i would get cancer and die, just to see who would come to my funeral. When i actually sleep, its usually wild like im in antartica then the settings change and well, its quite bizzare, but i almost always remember one dream i had. When im slowly starting to wake up, i can make my dreams drag hehe. Does anyone else have reallllly bizzare dreams on a regular basis? Mine are quite humorous, but kind of scary ):

    • M'hm. :X A while back in a dream I tried to seduce this guy, but he wouldn't do it. I kept repelling him when I tried to bring him toward me. Yes indeedy....

I can't really control what I dream about, but sometimes when I have really vivid dreams I can prolong them, and they usually start to make less and less sense, especially after I realized (in my sleep) that it was a dream. But in the case of my lost cat, I didn't really care that it didn't make sense. I just wanted time with her. Which sounds incredibly cheesy, but I loved my cat and I was miserable so I guess that was my subconscious way of dealing with it.

Some people can definitely control what happens in their dreams, but not always effectively. I can do it. It's more of an awareness that you're dreaming and then a will to make something happen or not happen. I lost a cat a couple years ago and for a year or so afterwards I had dreams about finding her and in my dreams I knew I was dreaming but it was beautiful that I didn't want it to end, so I'd drag it out so that I could have more time with my lost kitty :(

      • Yeah, not before I start dreaming, but while I'm dreaming is when I decide. It's easier to provoke a lucid dream when you think about it a lot before you fall asleep. It's a crazy thing, but things just kind of appear if you think about them with that intent.

    • Aw! :(
That is really beautiful. I remember I'd always have a dream the night after I lost a pet. I wish I would have been able to do that.
