Does anybody else have a disorder or syndrome?

I'm just curious to see how many people on here actually have one.

I admit it, I myself have one. All my friends tell me they never would of thought I had this disorder just because I seem pretty normal. They just tell me that they just thought I was a crazy girl when they met me. :)

But I actually have a complex disorder called TSC. Nobody ever seems to ever heard of it, I guess it is kind of rare though. I have dyslexia, social anxiety, and a hearing disorder caused by it. I of course have learning disabilities due to it. But truely I'm proud of who I am, I use to be afraid to tell people about it.

But I'm also curious to hear about other peoples disorders on here if you don't care to tell. I find this kind of stuff pretty interesting.

Old post, but I have very mild OCD. I say it's mild because I know of people with OCD who struggle to live their lives. Mine basically consists of small ticks that I have that don't really greatly affect my life.

For example, as a kid I would eat my fruit snacks in pairs and they could only be grape and lemon together and cherry and orange together. When I was 10-12 as soon as I woke up I would shower and couldn't do anything until I did. Most people have no idea I have it, but I'm professionally diagnosed and go to someone about it. I just beat my depression 1.5 years ago when I started seeing my therapist, but my depression was brought on by my unmanaged OCD.

Highly recommend finding solutions, especially for anyone reading this who has OCD which is highly treatable. You aren't broken. I remember in 3rd grade when I first went in for my OCD behavior the doctor thought I had kidney disease, and after running tests she told me it was "All in my head". It took many years later to realize what that meant.

I have Lazy Eye, and I'm pretty sure I have a Mental Disorder.

Depression and Adult Residual Attention Deficit Disorder if we are talking mental illnesses - both adequately treated pharmacologically. Also I tend to have some anxiety in social situations too, but I've never been diagnosed with anything officially in that regard.

Is being a sexual deviant a disorder? LOL

Not disorders so much as just abnormalities.

I'm a synesthete and profoundly gifted. Although I'm not entirely sure what qualifies as "profound", there definitely is a difference in learning speed. Synesthesia is a sensory condition in which the stimuli of one sense are also interpreted by another sense. This means the person may end up hearing colors, tasting music, smelling textures, etc. Most of my senses are hooked up to color.

PTSD, Asparagus Syndrome and some other crap.

I still function and my social life is good enough so I don't really care. Everybody had problems, or that's how I see it, anyway. The DSIM has a great way to make it seem like everyone has some kind of mental disorder. It's practically trendy right now. Not saying some people don't legitimately need help, but I think many have lost sight of what a mental disorder REALLY is. Science can be used for good or evil, mon ami.

I also have a hyperactive thyroid, which mimics symptoms of Bipolar disorder as my blood sugar fluctuates and I don't care enough to keep it regular.

Well, I have a connectivity problem and scoliosis.

I also know I have one or two undiagnosed "mental illnesses".

  • Not that I know of. Quite a few people on here would say that I do, for example I have been called "antisocial, narcissistic, sociopath", I doubt the last one is true, but I understand the first two can be a possibility. Been called those things by people on here and people in my real life.

I went to the doctors for something completely unrelevant to dissorders, I was young and had my mother with me. She started talking to him about my behavior and started talking about certain things I have done. The doctor then talked to me and said that I seem like a curious person that most likely has some sort of dissorder, that I showed traits of quite a few already. He told me I should book an appointment for a proper examination session, ofcourse I didn't go, if I got it put on my record it would lessen my chances of getting a job in the future if I did have a dissorder. Thing that interested me was when he said "If you do have a dissorder or more than one, we won't send you to a clinic straight away...I don't know if he was joking or not, but he had a serious look on his face, so that just made me make up my mind already, wasn't ready to be part of the Jr.Cukoos nest.

I also have had two coucilors (People in highschool that help students with their social or at home problems) and a school therapist. One of them thought I was on drugs, which I wasn't.

When I was a kid, I remember getting tested by getting asked questions, I lied through them all, you know, the questions at a young age like "what type of music do you like" when they see if you listen to violent music etc, although I didn't really listen to any music at that age.

There is a pretty strong possibility I have a personality dissorder, although actually getting diagnosed with one is a different story, I'll never intentionally get examined for one.
